Thread: BFI - JOM Coilover Kits ** From $439 ** For All VW Generations!

    1. 02-18-2010 05:00 PM #1

High guality at a low price - These MK2/Mk3/Corrado specific JOM suspension coilover kit allows adjustment of 25-80mm (1"-3.15") drop in the front and 40-85mm (1.6"-3.35") drop in the rear. A great choice for the budget minded enthusiast - fully height adjustable suspension for the price of a cup-kit.

Please feel free to call us @ 919.468.5400, or send us an e-mail sales@blackforestindustries.com if you have any additional questions.

1 ). any reviews of these?

2). why is Kimbo Slice (aka Kevin) in the back of that first picture?

because if these coils are going to work great around the block twice then just get knocked out on any turns after that then this is not what im looking to buy. thank you.

      sweet review.......

Aside from the fact that several of us have them on our vehicles and love them, we feel that reviews usually hold more weight when they come from you all - the consumers

The ride quality is surprisingly good for a kit at this pricepoint, especially if the setup is not lowered to its maximum. Remember - the lower the suspension, the less travel it has to dampen ruts and bumps in the road.

Please let us know what your impressions are - dont forget to search other models like Mk2 and Mk3 as they are the same kits as those for the Corrado crowd. We have sold 5 kits locally for these vehicles... Reviews pending

I have these on my car, for the price you cant go wrong. I havn't had any problems with them, the ride is better than you think and they go really low.

I understand they are a entry price Coil set but I've been told that they last eight months then they feel horrible. Please tell me what I've heard is wrong. I really want to buy these but don't what to be kicking myself in a year.

What you have heard is absolutely wrong - We have them on our personal cars and back them with an additional BFI 1 year parts warranty against manufactured caused defects or failures. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns or questions regarding either our JOM line or any of our other products

perhaps a dumb question, but can stock ride height be maintained? I need to replace my suspension and I dont really wanna drop my car any at all. Or am I forced to drop it the min amount that these have listed?

Just got my set last night. Looks great and can't wait to have a few days off to put it on the car! Finally my VR6 Corrado won't be a 4x4 anymore.

They are available. Unfortunately our inventory on our web store was off. We apologize for any inconvenience. It should now be available to order.

I have been considering these as well as Raceland for my DD SLC. I have HR springs now and originally just thought I would put new Bilsteins all the way around. I don't car much about how low they can go and do not want a really stiff ride as I do not race. I do however like good handling on curvy roads and a comfortable ride on roads that are not the greatest! (NE PA). Any insight based on what I listed would be appreciated, my shocks are bad and it's time to replace them with something whether it be new shocks or a coil system.

Figured I would chime in here seeing as how I have been daily driving an SLC with these coilovers on it for quite awhile now. I am thoroughly impressed with the ride comfort / ride height ratio. I realize that you say you are not concerned with just how low they go, and mine is not completely slammed (still lots of thread left) but these are great for the street from my experience. As for performance- they definitely beat out an old stock suspension any day- and definitely even a brand new stock suspension or cup kit for that matter. These do not compare to my B&Gs on my other Corrado however performance-wise. The JOM are much softer and less responsive (which is what makes them so comfy on the street). We are currently working on production rear torsion bars which should pair nicely with the JOMs to take out some of the roll and make for a great street combo that offers better performance at a budget friendly price. Overall for the money the JOMs are hard to beat, especially considering we offer a 2 year warranty on them and you can deal directly with us for warranty claims and not Germany.

Here's a snap of my SLC on JOMs

Thanks Daniel, very helpful first hand info. Just what I needed to hear. I think I'll order a set next week and please keep me posted about the torsion bar as well. I live in NEPA and I'm not sure that my tax dollars are going towards road repairs!

Our sales and shipping department is currently checking in the remainder of our inventory from Waterfest this past weekend. We should definitely have the coilovers in stock.

I'm new to Corrado's, is the slc setup the same as the g60 except with a higher spring rate? Can I use the slc version on my 90 g60 for a stiffer ride? Thanks.
