      SOLD

Ok, here is the deal on the shell... I bought it as a 16k mile shell several years ago with most all the original parts. The story is that before I bought it, the car sat for years, was stripped down and was going to be built as a race car. When I got it, I had it professionally repainted and started to work on building it.

Priorities changed over the years and now I am looking to sell it and likely all the accompanying parts. However, I am planning to sell those separately giving the the buyer of the shell first chance. Those parts will be available to others after the car sells.

For the shell, it will include the window seals with new chrome trim, a new manual steering rack, new tie rods, new drive shafts, new door seals, new hatch seals and a bunch of other misc parts. If you want the FK coilovers too, I would like $3500. The car is completely rust free and the paint looks very nice. I paid $750 for the shell originally, $2300 for the paint job and have at least $600 in the window seals, $500 in the other new parts and $1250 in the coilovers. If you don't want the coilovers, I will sell it on stock suspension with all other installed new parts for $2500.

Looking to sell this and would like to give the buyer first crack at many of the extra parts I plan to sell separately... They include but are not limited to...

clean early seats front and rear
spotless OE door panels - black
      crack free dash
      built 16v engine
      weber 45 setup
driver side tall back early black seat
NOS single round grill with NOS chrome
      postal tails
NOS OE small tails - hella
      chrome metal euro bump setup
small chrome side molding and rocker molding
      chrome side mirrors NOS
      chrome door handles
      2 gauge center console
FK fully dampening adjustable coilover setup
1 OE 16k mile gas tank and fuel lines
      NOS gas tank
      lots lots more

I am going to create a new thread in the parts forum once I sell the shell.

If I had some sort of a job, I'd buy it back. Looks good, all the same.

      Do want. Bad timing again.

To anyone considering bodywork or a project you would be so far ahead time and money wise its not even funny.

no it was not me although i keep my eye on these things....would like to know if anyone sells a re-man or new.
To anyone who doesn't know trying to get a manual 74-77 rack is almost impossible. I had to convert my 77 from auto and i almost dropped a nut trying to find one

really nice clean sheet for someone....if i had the money id buy a plane ticket right now and start another bunny

Keep eeet! I don't know you from Adam but I know you'll regret it! I just put my G60 swapped Rabbit up for sale and even though I haven't got any bites I prolly won't sell it even if I do unless it's an unreal offer. Over ten yrs ago I sold a turbo Rabbit and still regret it to this day!

I would say put an engine in it and drive it. Even if it's something quick and dirty like a 16v. Just something to be able to run it down the road. Build up a Turbo engine or something on the side in your spare time. Once you get to drive it(again??) you'll be glad you didn't get rid of it.

If not then G/L with the sale.

damnit. the next one i buy has to be a swallowtail.. im sorry, but anyone else this is too good an offer. to the owner, i honestly say youve gotten this far, just keep it out of the way until you can get back into it again cars like these you cant just off witth to someone whos not going to put as much detail and thought as youve apparently had. either way good luck.

    20. 03-05-2010 02:49 PM #20
