i don't have a big honkin' intake on top of my engine. i raised it an inch, but reduced the overall height by more than one inch.

    fuel lines came in today.

    worked for 16 hours.

i'll work on the caR more later this week (hopefully)

    you still can.

and yes, you are. OMG, you are so glad. FML.

might have to hold off on compression drop to facilitate job change. need to confer with co-conspirators, and i'll update after a decision is made.

still gonna do it, just may have to wait a few weeks/month or two.

so, i've conferred with my cohorts about this potential job mess.

i will be running with stock compression and reduced boost for a little while until i get settled into the new job or until i have absolutely everything i need to bang out the compression reduction and boost increase.

this will add another 'stage' to my build, and permit this thread to live on a bit longer.

i assure you the power aspect is not the only thing i'm working on, so rest assured we'll stay busy whilst i save $$$ for more power.

(guess i need to start putting stuffs together.)

Boosting a N/A engine? If you wanted a VW that wasn't N/A you should have just gotten a 1.8t. Lowering a car? If VW wanted the car to be lowered they would have done it from the factory. Don't change anything that alters the form the car came in from the factory. This idiotic thinking ruins cars.

WBTB show was a lot of fun today.

got to see a bunch of new faces and bunch of old ones, too.

Good to meet Brad from EuroTrash. (i'll be in touch later this week)

and picked up brand new fenders from Jasen.

taking a sunday off from work is gonna take me ~9 days straight to pay back. but i go on straight nights, so i'll have the mornings to do work. hopefully some progress this week. pics of fenders tomorrow, and maybe i'll actually assemble something.

    maybe

updates have been slow b/c work has been ugly. i assure anyone still watching that updates on wiring are pretty lame, so i'll be pretty well stuck into that until it's all done. then, i'll post the finished product. after the wiring is all well and good, the turbo build should progress rapidly.

    stupid wires.

been tracing/splicing/cutting/resisting/soldering/bitching/untangling/hiding/etc for what seems like weeks. hopefully, i can 'wrap' this mess up soon.

Sorry, not meaning that to be a dig or anything. Just not a fan of air to water for a street car. Unless you are doing it to try and hide everything, but for day to day consistent performance you can't beat air to air.

i am trying to hide as much junk as i can.

i don't race my car. it sees most of its miles driving around town or to local meets. not a lot of highway or extended high speed travel. some (very infrequent) stoplight racing has been reported, but my car is mostly just a car. living in indy, we see a lot of days with high ambient temps and outrageous humidity. a lot of high-boost cars have heat soak issues when it's like that. i'm hoping this may resolve some of those problems before they arise.

and i'm interested to see how it works out. the I/C i have now won't fit the way i want to plumb things, and it's pretty small. this will allow me to try something different & keep my bay clean(er). the worst that happens, is that i have to sell it all off and go back to air to air.
