attempting to remove evap system currently and i'm unsure about what to do with the two evap lines that run to the back of the caR. I know what to do with the fuel lines.
do i just unclip them under the caR? or cap em off? or trace them all the way back and un-install whatever they go in to? i'm fairly certain one goes back to the fuel tank. the other seems to make a 90* bend up into the trunk.
      a little help please.

remove the lines, thats what i did. the one that goes up past the tank i couldn't get out so i just cut it a little higher than the bottom of the tank. as far as removing what they go into i ahven't gotten to that point but i will when i get a fuel surge tank as i will be installing the tank in the spot where all the evap stuff sits.

yep, the white line if i'm not mistaken is the one that bends up the side of the tank, that one i couldn't get off at the fitting so i just cut it so it sits above the bottom of the tank. the other line i was able to get off at the fitting so that one came off intact. eventually i'm going to drop my exhaust and the heat shield and take out the rest of the evap stuff that sits in the hump from the spare wheel well. if you go that far and remove the stuff lmk how it goes.

MrsDrB after a long day of oveRhauling the house. (i think i inspired her)

passenger's side motor mount (lifted 1")

driver's side motor mount (lifted 1")

engine peeking out of engine bay just a wee bit (after 1" lift)

got the cover off and found these rascals (behind the coolant bottle)

found this dude at the rear of the car just above the mounting point of the trailing arm and promptly unplugged it

found this thing exactly where you see it and unplugged it as well.

once those suckers were unplugged and unclipped, i pulled gently from the rear. they came out nice and smoothly leaving this.

all of this work exhausted my wife and she had to take another nap.

a bit of brand representation for my fave brands

more work coming tomorrow, although i imagine i'll have few pics that will show much of anything.

so thats just a cover over the two fuel lines and two evap lines? Just pull the Evap out and forget about it? i have Uni. stg 1+ so, so emissions should have already been removed

No issues putting gas in the car with the evap gone?

your pics inspired me alittle and i decided to clean up that side today, i pulled apart the plastic cover and got all the lines apart, but i got a question for you, once you pull the two evap lines off under the car do you have to plug them off with something. I also pulled the metal lines out of the back and plugged off the two vacuum lines on the intake manifold. Gonna just keep the coolant bottle for now and run normal rubber coolant lines instead.

yep, just make sure your software has the evap deleted or you will throw a code. after you have that all figured out leave the purhe valve connected to its plug and let it hang where ever. there will aslo be a vaccum hose coming from the firewall area you can leave that unpluged as well

dave, i assume the empty 'vacuum hose coming from the firewall area' is the wrinkle-hose that T's into a check-valved hose back to the stock manifold???
i'll snap a pic tomorrow to be certain, as i have no idea what that vac-line runs to.

im not positive where that wrinkled line went cause i got rid of my stock manifold when i went turbo and went with an hpa to the c2 mani i have now. all i ahve is that wrinkled vacuum line not connected to anything and just chillin there tucked away. as for the power steering res i've heard you can cut or extend the factory lines and run the res under the pass side frame rail, and there are some mounting tabs/studs under there where you could setup a bracket. my buddy knows about a thread in the mkiv forums i'll ask him tomorrow to gimme a link to it.
