Some good news out of the Lions camp today we signed Nate Burleson..maybe another reciever for Stafford to throw to!

We kinda turned one of the old "Brett Favre retires" threads into the unofficial NFC North discussion thread.

I'm going to hold my opinion on Burleson until I can read the specifics on this contract. I don't think he's that great and hasn't really had a good year since '04, but if the money's not bad and not much guaranteed, I'd be OK with it.

I'm thinking it's going to be you and me in this thread talking about the Lions. Well, people will come in and make fun of them, I guess.

I think you are right..and burleson i think could be a good catch as long as they don try and make him a star...ie: Roy Williams

Burleson will be a good addition to your team, slightly overpaid but I guess it doesn't really matter this year.

This is the Bears in a nutshell with this GM and this Coaching staff.

GM brings in 0 offensive linehelp, and not even a legit number 2 reciever [we dont have anything near a 1].

GM does bring in a power back for short yardage.

Lovie has Forte try and bang it in for the first on 3rd AND 4th down. Burns 2 TO in the process.

Cutler is getting crushed and is not allowed to call audibles in Mike Martz system.

Detroit looks good. It's nice to see the doormat of the league with a competitive team.

As a Pats fan, it was nice to see Brandon Meriweather out of position and allowing huge gains for the Bears instead of the Patriots. New England must have concluded that the guy was uncoachable. Strong athlete but mental mistakes at safety are really costly. A 5th year player shouldn't be screwing up like that.

I said it was nice to see the team competitive. They've won 5 games against teams that aren't likely to make the playoffs. In their first 10 games, only San Francisco is likely to make the playoffs and the NFC-West has been weak for years. They have 2 Green Bay games, Saints, and Chargers. Detroit could easily win 10 games and be a wild card team.

Isnt the old saying Cornerbacks are wide recievers that cant catch? Wasnt he a corner in College?

Can you imagine trying to learn the WR position in the NFL under Mike Martz system?

Angelos solution to the recieving problem was to get rid of a decent target in Olsen and bring in stone hands williams.
