well ive come to the conclusion that the maf is the problem, i still gotta find someone that can take care of my exhaust, but at least for it runnin ill find out tomorrow if the maf fixes it, i ordered it, but it hasnt come in yet, i unplugged the old one and it seem to clean up how it ran, was apparently in limp mode when i un plugged it but it wanst missing im hoping for the best anyhow.

Toledo roads, mainly downtown, suck a huge throbbing one. There are more potholes there than craters on Mars. I was bracing myself to crack my oil pan or blow a tire.

Mm and I need new tires because mine are crap. I've been looking at Sumitomos anyone have any thoughts on these?

Never ran Sumitomos, but the roads in downtown t-town do suck major balls. I made the mistake of riding my motorcycle down there once, thought for sure I was going to end up with a cracked or bent wheel. What a joke.

vega, what needs done with your exhaust? i have a welder, but am a bit of a drive for you...i also work at a napa and can get bosal exhaust parts rather reasonable...

Given what reviews are saying, the Sumitomos are a good choice so come Saturday I'm getting new tires.

Just got back from Belle Tire. The Sumis are pretty good, a step up from the Kumho KH16 I used to run. Wet traction is good and my back end doesn't slide all over any more.

thanks for the offer but i actually just decided on replacing the engine, 1. because i found a 40k turnkey aeb engine for 1000, and 2. i also plan on building a mk1 or 2 1.8t car, and the exhaust completely fell off at the flex pipe so ima just drive it to fremont and ill fix it while i change the motor

Well I do have a carport I use to park my convertible in in the winter , but between helping my parents and grandparents on their houses this fall I didn't get a chance to get it up so the bunny sits in the snow till spring

Lol all I have to do is stop spending money on other things so I can afford parts. My sway bar links need to be replaced along with my hand brake, and I'm pretty sure that my clutch is going out.

air tools do come in handy . I scored a set of side Rabbit Decals yesterday at a local vw gtg , what is odd they have been floating around in the door prize box for a few years and everyone kinda forgot what they were. SO we unrolled it and i saw the RABBIT logo on the paper and I'm like . so when my # was pulled I already knew what i wanted and got it ! Now to just get the darn car on the road first

Yeah I belong to the local Greater Toledo Vw club , we had our first annual meet at Tony Packos , WE do different things thru out the year and have Bugfest in September at the vw dealership. Im hoping the weather holds out the next few days suppose to be warmer so maybe I can tinker with the rabbit a little bit so long as the rain holds off . You could always do like those peeps from Pimp my ride, carry a boom box for tunes in the yota

Same, I live in Perrysburg and I've never made it to Bugfest. This year I was caught up at work too, and got off work just when it was ending

GTVWC, been awhile since I heard that name...I last attended the Bugfest at Schmidt's in 1994! It's odd how that seems so long ago now that I type it out...craziness. I took home an award that day for my 73 modified stock beetle...second place I think, I'll have to see if i still have the trophy. In other news, I have more work to do to the wifey's new beetle, she managed to get stuck in one of the plow drifts along the side of our drive and ripped the lower valance when she tried to back out...grrrr

The Jetta search still continues, lots of prospects, but nothing solid....don't want to 'settle' for something, ya know?
