Last bump for the day and possibly the week...promise.

My OEM carrier bars and Thule fairing got finished drying tonight, so I threw them together and slapped them on. Too anxious and proud to wait until tomorrow, I took a picture:

Everything looks great! I like the Euro Cup Holder. What all was done to the roof rack and fairing??? I like the sticker

      Thanks!

I took the carrier bars and fairing apart and painted them. The fairing was originally black and the bars were that silver color. The paint color is Charcoal Metallic by Rustoleum. It's a very close match, but a little darker. I have a can of Platinum Grey Metallic, but at $25 a spray can, I'll settle for the $6 close match!

I like the cup holder MUCH more than the NA one. Little bit of a hassle to swap but nothing overly complicated. I actually had to think hard about which one of those stickers you gave me to put on! It covers up where the "Thule" decal was too.

So here's a bump and update. I have decided to make a wish list of all the plans I have for the GLI. I may be getting a new job soon (for VW actually) so time to start budgeting out money!

Any suggestions for better parts will be taken under consideration.

      • H&R DR Series 5mm & 8mm spacers (these are if I do not get coilovers)
      • BSH Bulletproof PCV Revamp
      • V-Maxx Coilovers
      • Sigma 6 speed Short Shift Kit
      • 42 DD Shifter Bushing Set
      • Dogbone Mount Insert Kit
      • Neuspeed 25mm Front Anti-Sway Bar
      • Neuspeed 25mm Rear Anti-Sway Bar
      • EuroJet 3” Turbo Back Exhaust
      • Euro Trunk Lid
      • 50% Tint
      • Slotted/Cross-Drilled Rotors
      • Lip Spoiler 3 Piece

Its BS that a V6 camaro that appears to just be a synergy edition beat you in that show...I never liked stock cars that were just purchased entering into shows.

      Gli looks amazing

Thanks and I wasn't happy about that. I spent the whole day before washing and waxing (semi wasted due to rain but whatever) and when I got to the parking spot, I wiped the whole car down several times, re-blacked the tires, cleaned the wheels, and it did stop raining long enough to apply a quick coat of wax. That chuckle head shows up and just wipes his wheels off and went home. It was frustrating but I semi expected it. That area is my home town and it's nothing but closed minded rednecks so they see a Camero and they lose their minds. All I heard from kids were "that's a green Bumble Bee" and it was a people's choice show. So many people looked at my car and I heard them say, "what is that". Oh well.

Installed a BFI torque arm mount insert today. Pretty easy to do and I haven't noticed a difference yet, but I didn't push my car tonight.

Going to pick up a new set of wheels and tires in the evening...can't wait! Going to sell the Denvers too.

So last night I went to Queens to pick up the new rims and tires. So, one, I'll never do that again, and two, I love them. 19x9.5, et 45, Miro LM Reps. One has a dent, but I could care less right now.

Here's one after a balancing, hub rings, and settling.

Thanks, although it's not a TDI front. It's the Thunder Bunny front bumper that they also offer on the TDI Cup Edition. Don't know why the dealer installed this on a GLI, but regardless, it's mine!

I know its the Tunderbunny but I think it sounds better to say the TDI front since its on a GLI. Wish I could afford one!

      Just a quick update.

Took off the BBS caps and made some VW caps using the Miro blanks and OEM caps.

Also, took off the OEM muffler and installed a SpinTech Super Pro Street 9331 muffler from BluMagic. After Waterfest, I will have it welded on and also put the OEM resonator back on to try to simmer down the volume.

      Quick video.

I registered the GLI for the Saturday drag race and the Sunday show for Waterfest and I will also be bringing my HEX-USB+CAN along as well.

Haha...well, he is my best friend. We were deployed together and he's really the closest (geographically) friend with a Volkswagen with the same interests. Thanks for the interest.

Thanks! I don't drive on 611 too much...just once in a while. Lately more because my Beetle is stranded in Feasterville.

You were a few weeks ago ~ I passed you in the '68 at the intersection of 611 & Edison-Furlong like 3 weekends ago, mid afternoon-ish
      Recognized the Europlate!
We traded V's -- I was the chic in the black '09 GTI heading 611 N , you were heading South.

Cool! Haha...sorry I don't remember really. I wave at pretty much all Volkswagens! And when I'm in the Beetle, I have so much else on my mind.

      Update!

Looks like the last thing I did on here was the VW center caps. Since then, not much has happened. I started a new job and that has been going great. Just keeping it clean has been the only priority. Once day at work, we threw it up on the lift and saw that the Neuspeed Sport Springs were almost fully compressed just sitting there. So, the decision was made to start looking for a new suspension option. Went to the classifieds and found a set of Koni coilovers for a good price and fairly local and jumped at it. I wasn't going to announce the coilovers until H2O, but when I saw it last night, I was too excited.

The cell phone picture is the only shot I have for now. If you want to see more, you'll have to wait for H2O!

I'm at 15 threads left in the back and 24 threads left in the front. The front tires are most definitely rubbing!

I have also got a few small odds and ends for the roof rack (replacing broken plastic pieces) to clean it up. That is it for now. The next update will be revealed at H2O.

Thanks man! Yeah, I mean, since we are Facebook friends, we should probably meet! Haha. Your Jetta is looking really good. Xenons class up any front end...and PG for the win.

Wow, it has been a long time since I have updated here. Since the last post not much has happened. Went to H2Oi with a different setup. Painted my steelies a grey metallic and put on Portawalls for an "old school" look.

It did catch the eyes of one of the EuroTuner photographers...

Then, I fine tuned the Koni's with the Miro's on and put yellow LaminX on the fogs.

Went to Fall Show 'n Go and was really shocked (and tipsy) to grab second place.

I got an ECS Tuning trunk lip, painted it, and it really cleaned up the rear.

The Toys for Tots cruise near Harrisburg was the last shot of the car before winter. I don't have any pictures of it, but by this point, I had installed a 3" APR RSC down pipe.

I then had a dead spell for a while. Partly because I promised the wife that I wouldn't buy anything. I did really well, until ECS Tuning posted their scrat and dent special on Euro LED tails. So I snagged a set. Enabled amber mode and rear fog.

Then one day, I stopped for gas, and I went from this...

      ...to this...

So, I figured I would just go raw.

That's it for now. Will be receiving slotted and dimpled Adams Rotors from DBC Performance and a 2.5" AWE Tuning cat back exhaust either this week or next.
