Quick update on the rust.

The repair did get approved and I spoke with the body shop today. What is going to happen is a repair; removing the caulk from the two seams, cleaning and prepping, and then recreate the lip, and then a full respray of the whole hood.

It gets dropped off on Tuesday and will be there for two days. Now, when it comes to paint/body work, I demand perfection. I will be over analyzing the repair upon pick up and the following day. I am kind of iffie about this repair.

Figures. Always gotta be a catch somewhere. I had a feeling that was the way they were gonna do it when you said repair. Once the filler is removed they should be able to tell how bad the rust is and if its pretty severe I hope they use their brains and replace the hood

Installed.

I used a bolt slightly longer than the OEM visor bolt and secured it to the visor. Full use of mirror and visors.

It seems to clutter the interior quite a bit, but I like the idea and practicallity

It really isn't that cluttered. I like it a lot. I need to make some adjustments and add a few washers to tighten things up but so far so good.

I feel the following message is necessary. I try to keep my personal life off of the internet but I know this situation will flow onto here. I am writing this and expect no replies. It is one and done.

I have messed up. I have been unfaithful in my marriage and I am now paying the consequences. I will not name the individual with whom it was with. Moving on to car related material.

One of the nuts that holds the plastic shift linkage bracket to the transmission backed off and came off. I went to go to lunch today and I had no shifter.

This is part of the 42DD shift bushing kit. I have to make some adjustments to it but I got another nut on.

Also, going to be ordering the ECS Tuning aluminum oil filter housing this weekend for my 65,000 mile oil change that is coming up.

I am confused as to why this happened. I am contemplating emailing 42DD to ask if this has happened before and if the have a specific torque spec that that nut needs to be at. I mean, I spent $.60 for a new net and washer so I am hardly mad. Just perplexed.

Yeah, I agree. I just threw it on yesterday on my way to work. I work night shift tomorrow so i have all morning and afternoon to baby the car...it needs it. I will take that assembly back apart and make adjustments, maybe throw a small dab of thread lock on the bolt, and go from there. I have been meaning to adjust my shift linkage anyway, so this will help as well.

Haven't had a chance to look over the car since Wookies. Tomorrow I will be pulling all four wheels, cleaning them, the brakes, the coilovers, and then checking all bolts. I have been hearing a clunk lately, but I am sure it is just the typical subframe clunk. I do have the upgrades bolts for the subframe sitting in a box in my drawer at home so I guess this is a good time to swap them out.

Meh...it kind of does. That's the top of the hill; before that there is always traffic from slow truckers. It also sucks because it leads into Jersey...never a good time.

This is true, but head my way on 78 and it's like going off road. Between lehigh st and 222, I can never avoid hitting the ugly road repairs and having my passanger side axle slap off the frame

Yeah. I hate having to go passed Lehigh Street on 78. Those bumps are horrid. Although, you notch your frame and you'll be golden! All I worry about is getting a bubble in my tires. But I did buy the extra insurance on them so I will be good.

I'm very surprised with the fact that I go that way often and have yet to damage the tires. I have a 2.5 inch hole saw ordered from my one tool dealer
