Sunday was supposed to be my day to pamper the GLI and check it over...that didn't happen. Went to Waffle House in the morning with Dan, Chris, and Chris, and then that trickled over into Chris coing over for an axle socket, and then the other Dan came over for LED tail lamps re-pinning and coding and talking. By then, I just wanted to wash the car and relax before work. Not sure when I'll have another day to do this.

The GLI is back down at the dealership for the hood repair. Dropped it off Monday morning and should be picking it up tonight or tomorrow.

Back in another TDI JSW and loving it. I really would love to trade in the GLI for a 2009 TDI JSW and then swap everything over...everything.

Finally placed a parts order:

- 1J0-973-702 (license plate housing connectors for PSU)
- 1K1-819-415-B-9B9 (rain tray...the GLI one is broken)
- 1K0-947-109-71N (visor bulb housing...the R32 one is cracked)
- 06F-103-235 (oil breather tube...broken clip)
- 1K0-201-051-K (fuel filter...GLI was due 5,000 miles ago)
- ECS Tuning aluminum oil filter housing

Been putting the rain tray, visor bulb housing, and oil breather tube off for too long. But, maintenance is paramount. Hopefully this all gets here ASAP. The oil filter housing is the only thing that is "urgent". Being that I ordered from 1stVWparts.com, and four of those parts are special order, it will be a few days until I get them.

I know when I first got the jetta, the housing was wet around the seal area, 1st oil change ended up with the same problem, so far this time is good, but not a big fan of the plastic housing anyways

We are also having difficulty in achieving a test car to use with adjusting our design as all local cars are either unavailable or are falling through with appointments made.

Still waiting on the body shop. Once this is all done, I will be getting a clear bra put on the bumper and front section of the hood. Might as well protect the brand new paint.

Sounds good! Probably would have the whole front end done (Bumper, hood, fenders) just cause of how damn picky I am. **** it, whole car works

It's not that bad. I have seen many cars with half the hood and you can't even notice it until you are about 3 feet away...and it doesn't look bad. Black cars, maybe. But especially on grey, it is very hard to see.

Got a call from 1stVWparts.com today. Have to cancel the rain tray due to shipping costs. Just going to try to pick it up locally. They said that UPS always seems to snap the rain trays and they cost a lot to ship. I appreciate their phone call. I also had them confirm the breather tube and I actually had found a superceded part for the TSI and he fixed it to the FSI part.

GLI is done at the body shop. Will be picking it up in the morning. Hopefully, their repair and paint meet my quality standards. If they don't, the car will not be leaving. Weather and time permitting, I may do an oil change Saturday after work. I will do a nice little review of the oil filter housing as well.

Ok. Car is home. They took the hood off to repair it and found more bubbling. It was deemed cheaper to replace the hood. I am actually shocked how quick they got a hood and painted.

What I am not happy with, is that the car is filthy. There is buffing compound on the mirror caps, fenders, and grille. There was so much dust on it from being inside the shop, on the outside and the engine bay. Filthy. Then add pollen from being outside and the morning dew. Also, someone took it upon themselves to play with my wink mirror. The bracket was removed and reinstalled, who knows why.

I spoke with the body shop manager about this and he is clueless. He said that hoods that are new are never buffed on a car. He said he also asked that my car specifically was cleaned up for me because of how nice it is (I got a chuckle out of that). They offered me a coupon to a local car wash but it is an auto wash that I can't drive through. I hate to do this, but I need to detail the car and see if I find anything else.
