As of 2012 all kits are now being made one-off, please pm me if you are interested. I have plenty of inventory in stock and most kits will ship first thing in the morning after payment is received.

These kits are for the MK4 1.8t motors, since there are some minor variations in 1.8t's, extra hose, clamps, and vacuum caps will be included. The instructions will cover AWD and AWP motors.

After much debate and frustration, catch cans will not be included in these kits. I simply could not come up with a solution that is reliable and remain cost effective at the same time. So now, it's BYOCC (bring your own catch can). The hoses in this kit are 3/4" and will fit most proper catch cans including the 42dd stealth can.

**Disclaimer** - I am not responsible for any damage done to the vehicle or yourself by performing this modification. I am simply collecting all the items needed and providing them to you as a convenience. Most states require the emissions systems on your vehicle and removing them could cause your car to violate your state's emissions laws. That being said:

    3/4" Kit:

    - 4x 10w 330OHM Resistors
    - 3/4" Catch Can (PCV) Hose
    - 1/2" Brake Booster Hose
    - 5/32" Vac Line (Used for diverter and FPR)
    - Custom made PCV line (Valve cover to Oil filter housing to Catch Can inlet) - Includes 1" section for larger valve cover ports
    - Box of Assorted Hose Clamps
    - Box of Vacuum Caps (Small)
    - Box of Vacuum Caps (Large)
    - Shipping to US

    Price is $90

Price with shipping to Canada $130

Add $20 if you want a block plate

Add $45 for a set of 3 plug and play resistors (2x square type for N112 and N249, and 1x oval for the N80 EVAP purge valve)

I also ship worldwide, just pm me with your address and I will get you a quote.

Link to the DIY I posted, The kit will come with a PDF version of the guide:

Foreign shipping will cost extra, please contact me for rates.

You could possibly have 2, If you are chipped and have the cat delete in the software you will only get the improper flow on from the lack of a evap system. I have REVO stg 2 and thats the only one I get. I hear that other chips might be able to be programmed to delete everything and be completely CEL free. It's a small price to pay to have a smooth running car, and easier to work on motor. Since I run VAG weekly, I will most likely disable the CEL on my car.

You might also want to replace your intake manifold gasket with a power gasket from Newsouth, and replace your plastic coolant T while you have everything ripped apart. You could also take advantage of having the aux oil port exposed to install a pressure gauge. Saves time in the long run.

Ok, so I've done a little reading on this, but just for clarification, what are the benefits of doing this (other than just have having a cleaner bay)? I'm assuming these systems are there for a purpose, so how does the engine react without them?

    Thanks.

Im gonna point you to this post, which is where I got all of my answers. Im basically putting everything together that you need to do this:

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3111538

My engine runs ALOT better now that this is done. I have no more random idle seek and my DV is much more responsive. Plus running the catch can, I have already kept alot of nastiness out of my engine.

I guess I don't understand why if it runs better without it and is better for the engine, is all the crap in there? Just to appease the emissions gods?

EXACTLY. For those of us in emission exempt states this is feasible. However if your state requires inspections, you will most likely fail.

Got hosed by my clamp supplier, so there is a slight delay on completing the basic kits. If anyone knows of a decent supplier that can sell #4 clamps for under .49 cents and #20 clamps for under .79 cents let me know.

    Will keep you guys updated

Hose clamps are in, only thing left is to get the photos done and the basic kits will be complete. I already have someone interested in providing their car as a model. These should be ready to sell very soon.

I have been getting ALOT of interest in the master kits, so I am going to go ahead and order block plates and catch cans to do 5 kits. If these sell well, I will do another run of 5.

Still waiting on the catch cans, the supplier is taking his sweet time. Needless to say I wont be using him again.

Unless that eBay catch can uses 3/4" fittings/nipples, I would highly suggest against including it. Restricted venting lines will gunk up fast.

These do have the larger fittings on them. I ordered one of the cheap ones with the smaller fittings at first to test, and your right. They are crap. So i ordered ones with the larger fittings on them.

Won the ebay battle and got my money back, I only lost the return shipping cost which is BS. But whatever. I am now looking for new catch cans to add to the kit, and hopefully this will be done soon.

I think this is a great idea and if I didn't have most of it deleted already I would probably be buying one.

There is some great info on how to modify the ebay cans on that page.

    for helping out the forum

They will be recirculated, at least the prototype I am working on will be. I have made two prototypes, one is made from 3" PVC pipe and has 5/8" fittings on it; and the other is made from a small camping size propane tank with the same 5/8" fittings (fittings will be brazed on). I will be running each one in my car for a week or so and see if it holds up. Both units will be painted in a high temp black paint. I looked into powder coating, but the least expensive I could find was $200 to do 5 cans. So doing that would make them more expensive than they need to be.

As for the kits, I will only be selling 5 master kits, one of course being for the model car to get install photos for the guide. After that, I could make them on a per order basis, or I can just post a materials list and a how to in a thread.

The prices of the master kits will be a little cheaper since the cans I am making will be less expensive to manufacture. The homebrew cans will be included in the kit, but you are welcome to use your own.

So the catch cans are a bust. I am unable to get a quality unit AND keep the kits in the price range I'd like to. So I will sell the kits as is, with no catch can. Everything else will be included. I will hopefully be putting together the guide to include with the kit this week and they will be ready to ship next Monday.

Kits are $140 including shipping. Catch cans are no longer part of the kit anyway.....long story.

Completed an install on a AWD motor last night. Some minor variations on the removal, but when all the OEM crap is removed, the kit works the same. So I will be putting together the guide this weekend and will have 4 kits to sell. The kits are sold as described on page 1, as of right now I am not breaking up the kits.

On another note, I have a extra Integrated Engineering block plate for sale, brand new, never used. $35 shipped

i believe APR only offers a delete for the cat (stage 2)

I have APR 93 on my car which we installed the kit on the other night, and i don't have any problems. The car runs much nicer now with a single, strong vac, as well as several leaks we fixed along the way. :thumb:

hehehe, thats cheating..... I'm actually almost done with the DIY, I will take a picture of the kit and post it as well. Once I sell the remaining 4, I will post a materials list. At this point I am simply looking to get what I put into the kits.

The kits are finally DONE! The manual is purely photo with captioning and is 53 pages long. I included my email, and will provide my phone number to people who purchase the kits in case there are questions or if I missed something.
