Palmdale / Lancaster GTG (antelope valley)

Hey everyone it's Luis. I haven't been on for a while and now im back. I used to go by Darkside_GTI. I lost my password and it's linked to an e-mail address I wouldn't be able to check anymore, so now im back as Darkside_GTI2.

I have been searching on here and I don't see any GTG going on in the Antelope Valley area (Palmdale / Lancaster). So does anyone know of any GTG that go on out here for us euro guys that im missing?

If not I will be happy to start one if there is an interest. For those who don't know me I was one of the people that started the Burbank GTG. Also the maker of the Halloween GTG in Burbank a few years ago where we had a scary car contest and also where the cops stopped by and gave out free slurpee coupons for keeping it safe and fun. So if there is a strong enough interest I will be happy to start one up out here for all us AV guys. So the purpose of this post is two things...

1.) Is there currently an active GTG in the AV (Lancaster / Palmdale) area that anyone is aware of?
2.) If not who would be interested? Location: Palmdale or Lancaster?, What day of the week is good: Mon. thru Sun.? And lastly Time: afternoon, night or late night?

Well you haven't been to one of my GTG. In Burbank we had a usual turnout of about 25 to 30 cars show up. I just want to make sure there is a following before I make calls and try to get this going out here. Then I can do my usual reaching out to venders to for give aways and things like that.

hey luis there an aircooler meeting every friday just come and drop by
its in palmdale at the toms on 47st and avr r it starts at 630 700 but some guys get there little early to eat just come on by.dont be scare if you are watercooled a vw is vw no matter what year.if have family bring them to the more the merrier

I think that sounds great. I am going to try and make it out. I might bring a friend of mine who loves the air cooled VW's but he has a 03 cobra (Terminator) if that's ok? After I attend the one on Friday I will see about starting one with a bigger location for more rides, I don't even know if there will be a following for it out here yet, so well just wait and see.

But thanks for the invite and im sure I will bring the family with me

Its actually really quick, I don't know the stock Horse Power off hand so I wont pretend to. I know after his last dyno tune he is pushing 455 Horse Power to the wheels and about 465 Torque. So I don't know if that is a big jump from stock, but it was enough to impress me.

Ok so I have got some feed back from fellow VW folks in the area. What I am hearing is that Saturday works better for most. Also Lancaster should work for the city, I still have not come up with a location but I want to get some feedback given the details above who is going to attend, then I will pick a location and we can discuss frequncy at the first GTG.

If you are even thinking of coming please respond, I want to get a head count to see if there is enough interest.

Ok everyone, I am even getting support from the Valley (guys that used to roll to the Burbank meet are going to come up to our GTG). So I need to know what everyone thinks about a Lancaster GTG on a Saturday this month

Hey, kinda off subject, but I ordered a vinyl graphic for my dad's mini cooper roof and he's having some trouble finding a shop to just install it properly for him.. anyone know of any good shops in the area? Or any dirt cheap body shops for me.. got a dent with paint chipping on my jetta.

When you say in the area are you talking about Palmdale / Lancaster or L.A.???

well in lancaster there the target on 10st west and avek.there the denny's on 10st and ave i but saturdays there an all meet for street racer after 1130.the wallmart on ave j and 20st est theres alot of places

Ok everyone, looks like this Saturday is the day. I am working on Location as I want support from Merchants and local law enforcment (like the other meets I put together). I want to get a head count on here on who is planning on going. It will be in Lancaster and I am thinking around 7ish (pm). I will post on here later tonight or tomorrow with a location but as it stands who is thinking they might show up?

Alright guys i talked to DARKSIDE_GTI2 and he made made plans for today because he didn't know if people where going to show.I think we want to do it on 5-1-10 which is this coming up Saturday.
We don't have a location yet.
We need a head count to see how many people are going to show and to see how big we need the location.
