As Audi's R8 LMS racecar prepares to contest GT3 race series around the world for the 2010 season, engineers from quattro GmbH are doing some testing of their own. Fourtitude sources inside Audi have referred to this car as the R8 GT - an edgier take on an already edgy Audi. Recent rumors out of major magazines suggest Audi is readying a new dual clutch DSG to see duty in the R8 and Gallardo and that leaves us wondering whether it will be ready in time for use in the expectedly more potent winged R8 GT or whether Audi will save that one for the second generation of the car. Either way, spy photos of the car testing at the ring can be found over on MotorAuthority and, while spy photos of this car in mule form aren't that new, these latest photos of the car looking nearly ready for production. This car, DSG or not (and we've most recently heard not), is rumored to be in dealerships by next year.
