Yeah, I saw that in my apt parking lot one morning and did a double take. The gf asked me what I was looking at and then I showed her. She was like OMG dirty!

I use a Meguiar's wash mitt and a Mr. Clean Spray doohickey and it works great. I don't wax, I like a little hair.

Today while working I found this old 70's (I think?) Beetle that is fully set up for off road it looks like and its had an engine swap....the motor is under the front hood which I thought was supposed to be the trunk because originally the engine was in the boot of the car. Of course the car also has a manual tranny.

WTF engine is this???? It is in the front of the car NOT the rear lol.

Id offer the guy a little $ for it if I didnt allrdy have my hands full, the car has been sitting for a couple years I know that much. I have slight interest in buying it cheap if I could just toss it at my parent's farm for storage and work on it once in a while, I wouldn't register it or anything id just use it as an off road/autoX car.

Thanks for the props Tyler. Yeah I'm really pleased with how they look on the car. Just needs a bath and it would look even better. Maybe later in the week I'll clean it up and if the weather holds snap some new photos of it.

      How's the Integra running?

      How's the Integra running?

      Sure thing

The Integra runs & drives beautifully, all it needs is a new starter (solenoid is shot, it works half the time so the starter just clicks but doesn't crank without a few tries) and it also needs a new brake master cylinder....thats basically it other then a new set of spark plug wires and an oil change Itll make a fun reliable DD, im excited about it. I'll have it all fixed up and on the road in a month or so at the latest.

I haven't forgotten the Rocco either, ive been driving it to and from work every day during the week I feel bad putting it off, I was going to buy my cat-back exhaust within the next paycheck or 2 but I ended up snagging that Teggy up for cheap. Wont be long til the rocco is back to getting the attention. Thursday I hope to pick up a new alternator for it, the one in it has a bad rear bearing causing it to randomly squeal and sound like 30 year old crap lol.

Yeah I remember the starter being temperamental and pretty much working when it wanted to.

I'd imagine the starter isn't too bad to get at.......... Then again they can put them in some pretty precarious positions.
I'm sure having some good working brakes is a bonus.

I was told the starter is easy to get it once the car is up on jack stands. And ya having a bad master cylinder sucks- you have to pump the brakes because of an internal leak in it.

Here is a vid of it running, all it needed was a new ignition coil and a new rotor and I drove her home. Its actually a damn quiet car at idle, just my camera makes it sound louder then it really is- that and I recorded this vid in my garage.

That is pretty quite. I'm sure a CAI and exhaust would change that

I'm probably going to get a short ram AEM intake to make the intake growl of this DOHC nice and loud:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXJQt0Kep3M
Intake alone really brings out the throaty growl of the B engine.

I'm not sure if I want exhaust yet...if anything maybe a aftermarket muffler that isnt a buzz can and isnt too loud......but this all depends when I run out of stuff to buy for the Scirocco lol.

Doesn't sound too bad. You could see how it sounds with the intake and if that satisfies your ears, then you could leave it like that until you desire a little more exhaust note.

      Woot, low mileage

I dont like dummy lights... every time any of my car's ever threw a code it usually was something that robbed power or needed to be changed, it was never anything stupid that I could just keep driving on lol.

Gotta love my Eight-Deuce, Only has an OXS diode (oxygen sensor/ maintenance light) and a oil diode
Ahh tomorrow = payday Hope I got enough extra to grab a new alt for da rocco.

so i just had to run to the gas station and ended up next to a MK4 GTI. he said it was a stock vr6 but it had the 337 rear valance and it sounded like it had exhaust

but anywho if that guy is in here and sees this you need to get that engine checked out asap!!!! it had one of the nastiest engine knocks i have ever heard!!

i ran my saab with 2225,xxx miles on it dry of oil and it still sounded better than that

I wonder if it's the guy that is trying to sell his GTI or something of that nature that one of the Fox Cities/ Appleton guys had and sold it to the guy and he doesn't know a thing about the car and claiming that he is the that did all the mods...........

Just seeing if you any of you guys are planning on going to Eurowerks? As of right now I'm planning on going to just spectate and check out the rides.

It'd be great to have some people to cruise to the show with.

I'm fairly positive that I'm going. I also have a friend that I could stay with in the Cities. I just figured that if there were others from the GB area going it would be cool to all cruise to the show together.

I'm sure as it gets closer I'll know for sure what my plan is, but right now I'm 75% in. You know how things can come up that you don't plan on.

Non VW Content: I spruced up the DD last night a bit. (painted the highbeams)

Amazing how a cheap small touch can make such a big difference

Thanks Everything went smooth so far on the car and painting those high beams actually were very easy to do.

Yeah if you have the $ to pay the car off as a whole one way or another I will get ya the last bit of cash for that engine, I should be able to with my next paycheck next week. Going to be fun once we get a chance to start pulling out that longblock, what better a car to learn on then one that is currently dead

Woot, just got to meet patrikman very briefly! Loaned him my stained glass paint, I hope it works well for ya man! Just remember to make sure the lens is clean and dry when you paint it, and mask off everything well your painting around.
