9/19: New pics at the bottom of post....

I've been snapping pictures of things I have worked on,and I wanted to clear them out of my phone memory,so I thought it would be a good idea to post them up.

Some of them are 100% my work, some things I helped with or did some of the machining, some of them I didn't do anything but I just thought it was cool, so I took a picture.

Most of the work is manual machining, but I am just beginning with CNC, and have done a few small things on there. Take a look, comments are welcome

NOTE: Not all car related, but some cool stuff, and some custom billet car parts.

Drilling out holes on a rotary table, in a flange for a massive water pipe

billet wheel adapters for chevy dually to semi truck wheels, I still need to get a pic of my bosses tuck with the wheels on it

billet supercharger bracket for a porsche, made on a fixture, you can see the original piece it was based off of, which is some oem piece that was welded on (didnt work on this)

Massive turbine blade/shaft. I think it was for a ships engine. We had 2 in a crate and I hoisted it out with a forklift and helped to mount it in the lathe. Probably weighed 500+LBS. Check out the way the blades clip into the hub.

Big lathe, thats a can of Mountain Dew in there!

Line boring on construction machines. We do this alot. I have setup and ran this before. We also weld on the pins to thicken up the OD then machine back down to size.

Milling 45 degree angles on the OD of a large pulley, or some kind of part for a construction machine. I didnt work on this I just thought the setup was interesting.

Rebuilding gearbox for vaccum truck. The diff is like 5X bigger than an 02A differential. I did alot of work on this.

An outlet for a water pump. I thought we were gonna have to make this on a CNC due to how complex it was, but my boss is a genius and did it all manually, even the coil inside the housing that directs the flow of liquid. This looked alot like a compressor housing for a turbo, lots of similarities. I did some minor work on this on the mill. Mostly just chopping off the bottom to make it flat so it would clear the ways on the lathe when it was spinning. That is a plastic prototype that we based our piece on. I placed them side by side so you can see how large the stock material was and how much had to be machined off to create this complex shape.

A piece for an oil pump that I made. Original cast piece failed, so I made one out of solid CRS

Custom made dual alternator bracket, made from solid billet aluminum. For a chevy impala.

While not my taste, I can respect the work and money in this car. This car had massive big brakes on all 4 corners, chevy 454 crate motor, custom ladder bar suspension, fuel cell and pump, custom interior, custom paint. Supposedly about $60,000 was put into the car. Had about 10 12" JL subs and 8 massive (30" long) amps in the trunk. In total the car has 3 alternators now. Our dual alternator bracket included 2 idler pulleys. I helped on some of the machining on this piece, as well as helping in design and conceptualizing. My boss did a majority of the work.

Transmission girdle. This was my design, based on some of the other ones that are already made. This is my first CNC piece. I will be cutting in metal soon, and possibly doing a small run for other people who might be interested Send me an IM if you would like one.

I will post more when something else cool comes into the shop

the turbine blades on that 500 lb shaft has a fir tree design ot attachment. At first i thought it was a shaft for an aircraft engine.I like the work also would like the piece you are making for the 02a/j gearbox

maybe you can try drilling some rotor disc.I drilled my own with a hand drill and they look great and work just the same.As a matter a fact guys were wondering if i had purchased them that way.I think that doing it under a drill press is much better.

Thanks for the compliments guys. It means a lot coming from the likes of nub and frank the welder. Alot of the work we do is mundane and repetitive, I only post up the things that I thought car people would have some interest in. Ill post more, hopefully of my creations, sometime soon.

The whole drilling a brake disk with a hand drill doesn't sound like a good idea to me. And Im almost positive they do some other things to the brake discs to stress relieve them, like heat treat or something after they drill the disks. Some companies, I believe, even cast the discs with the holes in them, not totally sure though.

We do some super cool top fuel and pro stock stuff I can't post, sucks

I'll post more when I do something else interesting....hopefully some of my own designed/ made parts soon

I'm only doing part time for now, since they're shop is a bit disorganized and I'm pretty busy with my own machining/consulting business as well... pics......

    THROTTLE BODY ELBOW

    MANIFOLD FOR JET SKI

    INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNERS

I MADE THIS HUGE STACK OF THROTTLE BODIES, ABOUT 50 TOTAL

    VARIOUS DIFFERENT PRODUCTION STUFF

SICK BILLET 4 PLATE THROTTLE BODIES, I MADE THESE ON THE HORIZONTAL HAAS MILL

WE HAVE 2 AMAZING WELDERS WHO WORK HERE, CHECK THIS STACK O' DIMES

I'll post some other pictures of other work I did at some other shops in a minute, just tryin to clear out the memory card, and show some cool car related machining stuff.....

Heres some other manual machining,CNC, and production work I did at a few other shops, some I did a few operations on, and some were done by me from start to finish... take a look

production work on ring valves done by me, and some half millon dollar machines

very very large ring valve seat, probably a $5000 part

twin spindle, 3 turret, Mori Seiki lathe, BIG $$$$$

    billet motorcycle engine, so cool

2011 haas vf5, worked this machine almost every day for 2yrs straight, made her my bitch

parts I made on conventional machines (by hand not CNC) for the car wash trade show

supercharger bracket for porsche, made fixture and made billet bracket to replace welded junk

Thats it for now, I'll post some more when I get some more cool work to do. Hope you like it
