I am looking for a camshaft for a Audi 3A engine that will have high torque, low RPM, and good fuel efficiency . What would you recommend ?

the stock grind in my 85 gti is a pretty good torquey low rpm cam. its all out of power by 5500. and provides good torque. well, i think it does pretty good for a gasser atleast, it has nowheres near the torque of my diesel, but you get the idea. my GTI cam would bolt right in your 3A. im not sure what # grind it is or anything, but im almost positive its a stock cam.

http://www.techtonicstuning.com/camsspecs.asp shows the specs for some stock cams.

i've got a stock cam from a 91 fox if you're interested. i'll need to take some pictures for you first since i left it outside overnight and it rained, so it's got a little surface rust.

iirc blown020 made a fuel efficient mk1 and might have used an "h" grind cam maybe? i think that might have been a solid head though.

    I really suck at smog.

The stock cam pretty much covers all your bases....look elsewhere for improvements.
