Should be some new season events this evening, maybe they will actually supply us with some Aspec rather than dopey Bspec. Quit designing racing helmets/suits and add more wheel types!!

I hope they update the museum soon, it's probably the most-used and most-exciting feature of the game

Isn't there still an issue where it eats up memory every time you open the museum? Or did they fix that.

    define "fix"

Apparently the newest update created a problem where, sometimes, you receive no credits or XP for online races.

    Awesome.

I'm seriously looking to start driving again. I've been playing NHL12 a lot lately online and want to get back into some racing. I was thinking of starting an "Idlers Series" a la Rauh-Welt based on the BTR. Any interest on here?

The BTR is fun, it's a handful, but fun. I'd be interested but check on GTP because there are some people who organize the same thing and you might just find some like-minded people there and save yourself the headache of trying to herd cats.

recently the hard drive in my PS3 bit the dust and i lost everything. i've since replaced it and started rebuilding my car collection, but i'm stuck at version 1.0 of the game. if i'm connected to the PSN, it tells me i have to update when it boots the game. cool, i give it the OK, and the first of 15 downloads (the big 680MG one) fails before it even gets to 1%. every time.

my internet connection is fine. i've been moving big files to and from my server all day. i keep dropping the connection to the PSN, or at least the server that's hosting the files. is there some other way to download the updates?

i think you can do them from a usb stick, but that might only be for system updates. google it.

    http://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-photo-st...ervice-begins/

Gran Turismo 5 Photo Stream Service Launches in Asia

As reported a month ago, the Photo Stream service of Gran Turismo 5 has now gone live. Using this function, any photo set by any player to “Share with Friends” will be anonymously published to the official Gran Turismo website for anyone to see, rather than limiting your works to only the people on your PSN Friends list. There is, however, a small catch in that the service is not available yet to users outside Japan and Asia:

“The new “GT5 Photo Stream” service has been started on gran-turismo.com. In GT5 Photo Stream, photographs taken in the photo mode of Gran Turismo 5 and set to “Share with Friends” are be shown in a list on a webpage, and can be viewed publicly by anyone. [...] This service is initially limited to Japan and Asia.”

Other regions’ players have been greeted by the following update to the original February announcement:

“[March 15 Addendum] In the following article, the commencement of the GT5 Photo Stream service was mentioned as being “With the coming Gran Turismo 5 update planned for March 2012. However the release timing for the next GT5 update has been postponed, together with the GT5 Photo Stream Service. We appreciate your patience as the next GT5 update is prepared, and thank you for your understanding.“

You can already view photographs submitted by eligible players on the official site for Japanese and Asian users since the service went live at 1200 UTC. The images are available at a reduced resolution, with a width of approximately 1024 pixels.
Good to see them so busy creating features i don't give a crap about. Fk Sony, FK PD, i'm buying the next gen xbox.

Kaz: hey PD, what can we do to show our customers they are suckers and we screwed them out of buying our PS3 years before a "launch" game was ever released!?

PD: Let's spend years on features no one gives a flying fk about!

Anyone doing the new drift trials? I hate Cape Ring.

I also hate that there is a 10* window between half throttle and full throttle on the thumbstick. Makes it impossible to do the new 650pp trial and get a competitive result.

I play FM4 and never touch GT5. How is the drifting & the lobbys? Does anyone have personal video of anything I could take a look at.

The drifting lobbies are "meh" at best, to be honest. The drifting is fairly fun though.

Looks fun. The driving characteristics are so different I cant imagine getting used to GT5 over FM4.

If you play both online what are the PSN players like?

i still dont understand why PD decided to put B-Spec into this sim. well, i sort of do, but i don't know how many people get satisfaction out of watching the computer compete against itself over and over again. it was a legacy product that basically takes away half of the game's developer resources that could otherwise go towards more exciting products (such as some of the things found in F4)
