what happens to water that goes into the exhaust? What happens with really hot headers going right into the water?

Most water should get pushed out or prevented from coming in by the exhaust pulses. The rest would drain out of the weep holes in your mufflers. The headers would just cool off quickly. Nothing should happen but I'm sure there is always a chance of warpage/cracking.

yes, it was something to do with either the access or the rock itself being on private property.

I guess I'm just amazed at the forces involved here.

    Great pics, by the way.

Sorry for any confusion. I simply am enjoying the TCL'ers who are mixing it up in the messy stuff.

Thanks... I was unschooled in that little tidbit. I'm used to seeing them just drop on the pavement when the U joints let go.

Now I know. There is a reason I don't offroad... obviously, I'd never get back home.

Went mudding in my friend's H1 in Bulgaria. Had the street-ish tires on it so it got stuck when we didn't have enough momentum to carry us through this mud. Had to get the tractor to pull us out.

    Edit: Forgot to resize..

    It's a 1G Rav-4, we've already determined this.

and considering the terribly corrosive effects of volcanic ash (airliners consider this the equivalent of microscopic shredded glass), this won't be a very long lived Rav-4.

Tends to clobber engines very quickly
