Thread: Does anybody golf on here?

I love golf! I hate golf! I can't wait to play and then wonder why I decided to play by the second hole....usually. It's definitely a love hate relationship I have with golf. I'm part of the "a bad day of golf is better than a good day at work" school of thought. Personal best is an 83 from the tips and average around the low 90's. Not great but good enough to have fun. Atlanta is awesome for golf!

Agreed with Atlanta for golf. I try and make it out every other week depending on rain and heat in the summer. Was at sugar loaf 2 weeks ago, first time out in 6 months. Shanked the crap out of my balls all day. Ended up with a 111. I should be back down to the low 90s a few more times out.

lol...u can come see me if u want....it was on a simulator at Golf galaxy too.....i mean, i read swing speed...136mph....and the ball went 303 yards...my boy told me that one of them went 311, but i dont remember...i was in the zone, lol...so 303 is fine for me.

I hit the ball out of most ranges....atleast the ones by me....300 yards is the furthest one

Sure. You hit it out of the ranges. When the ball is still carrying 50 feet up in the air at the 300-yard mark. Right.

i also have a professional long drive club too i purchased....6.5 degree loft....the ball hits VTec at like 200 yards.....idk an official number wit that club, but my guess is 350ish

50" long shaft whipping thru the zone = big boom

So you use a 50" driver shaft for your everyday driver? Are you trying-out for the Re/Max long distance driver's tour? Oh, and you should know that a low degree driver like that is not ideal for long-distance driving, you want to carry the ball as long as possible if you're going for that kind of distance. But you'd know that, right?

You just keep on spewing out more and more BS as you go along.

There are a few people in here that know what they're talking about when it comes to golf, please take the "I'm trying to make myself look good on the intertubes personality" elsewhere.

it's kinda funny, but I met MikeScott a year or two ago with his flat black passat, he's a big boy so I'll believe him that he's getting 300 on the Galaxy simulator.

I'm 6'5" 280 with a swing like Wei, long and fluid and I've got a swing speed around 100-105. On the Galaxy simulator I get 300 frequently, but on the course it's a totally different story!

Side not, I just refinished a Vockey 60 degree, came out great, I'll post pics shortly.

Its kind of a hard course if you shank it. Its not that bad to play.....and it was better than work!

I'm playing a scramble in the next few weeks. I should probably go to a driving range so I don't embarrass myself. Scrambles always take me out of my comfort zone but it should still be fun.

Two kids, a wife and work make it very difficult to play as much as I did as a college student. I do miss it once in a while though. I'm hoping one of my kids enjoys golf enough to go out to play with me.

I took my 2 year old to a putting green and had an old guy glaring at me the entire time. Even though the green was huge, my daughter was fairly quite, and there was nobody else there. Plus it is a public course. If you want to be an ornery jackass, buy a membership at a private club.

I played a couple scramble tournaments last year. Since winter is 6 months here I'm able to get out about 12-15 times a season.

I absolutely love playing. I'm a bogey golfer at best, but I just love playing the game. Thankfully I will be moving to a climate where its possible to play all year long

While we are on the topic of dirves. I think my longest has been ~360 but I realized that its better to have a 260 yard drive in the middle of the fairway as opposed to trying to smash the ball every time and hoping it goes straight Most of the time mine don't

Shot 79 today at Daytona Beach CC. Warm up for tomorrow. Playing TPC Sawgrass. Friends folks live on the sister course, they get a handful of guest passes. I am super excited!

I golf at least once a week.

The course we play is as redneck as it gets and I love it.

Anyways its $18 for 18 with a gas powered cart. We bring our own beer, play barefoot, wearing tanks or a jersey, and bring a boombox for some country or 90's rap. It is the best way to spend the day. Only once has the marshal ever said something and it was like "Put your shirt back on and at least buy one beer from the cart girl"

Surprisingly, I think the course is better kept than the local muni. There's no sand, but the water features and greens are actually pretty nice. Well worth the 30 minute drive out to country.

I know the feeling, though I only shot a double digit once in the past year, my score is still terrible.
