Motor Trend has published a comparison story whereby they pit the Audi TTS against a slew of rivals including the Porsche Boxster, BMW Z4 and Nissan 370ZX.

    Of the TTS they said:

    Quote »
On roads that set the BMW chattering and Nissan creaking, the Audi TTS responded with mere lift throttle exhaust burps as it rocketed from corner to corner. Its stiff chassis has all the rigidity of a solid billet of alloy.

How'd they place? Well, the TT took second to the Porsche. If you want to know more than that, you'll have to click on through.

Not a surprise finish. Boxster is and always will remain a roadster benchmark. Z4 is as ugly and heavy as ever, wearing a blue-and-white propeller badge doesn't mean its the best.

My brother has a Boxster S that I drive once in a while. There is really nothing on the road that comes close to it in terms of handling and the fluid feeling of connectedness to the car when you attack some off camber apex. The test also shows why Audi need to bring the TT-RS to the US. As is, TT-S is a fine machine to compete with regular Boxster and Z4... (with lowest sticker price). But against Boxster S, the TT-S is a bit short of power. TT-RS would have given the Boxster S a real run for its money, as it has in several European tests.
