The fuchs didn't match the picture I had in my head of how they would look but I wouldn't have know unless I tryed.. The ideas kinda gone in the bin.

The underside is half in primer awaiting repairs. Ive been abit side tracked with my Mk1 Golf thats lending the engine and running gear.

Ive sourced some NOS early bumpers and early indicators. thanks to Mr brown!

I now need to find a full set of end caps and a pair of early wings.

    Random picture.. Original floor pans

Ive not updated this thread for ages but tbh not that much has gone on. Lots of buying wheels and changing my mind. My NoS parts collection is growing.

Ive removed the raintray and the scirocco brake bar strengtening plate (that was a slag to remove). I used a mixture of grinder, power file, heat gun and chizzels. made abit of mess of it.

Raintray be gone! by Winstang, on Flickr

On removing the sounddeadening in the raintray I found some nasty rot but I have managed to source a solid rain try section from a member of the scirocco regester to repair it.

Plenty of goodies in the pipe line. I swapped these with my mate Nick lastnight for the spare Mad'ins from the Golf. new trumpets and a stealth linkage is the plan.

New Dbilas inlet manifold. its much shorter than the old one which means longer ram pipes

Fitted to the carbs. ready for the engine bay mock up.then I will strip the carbs for a rebuild.

Early Aluminium sill covers imported from the states. Im very tempted to polish these up.

Last but not least. megajolt ignition. this means I can bin the dizzy and hide all the gubbins

Ive started doing some bits on the engine now while I wait for the welding to be done. Had quite a few good ideas about how to hide things. I made a mini dip stick last night.

I have been enquiring with several companies about 14" step up dishes and barrels for the 13" Mad'ins. I had a play in potatoshop this afternoon to see if they would work. It doesn't look any different to most people but its made such a difference.

Thats it for now! Ive missed out quite a few boring bits. Alot of working going on behind the scenes.

Cheers guys.. I never thought I would fall for the whole NoS parts thing.. How wrong was I.

I bought myself some trumpets with my Christmas money. Its the 3rd set I have bought. pretty happy with these now. Although I would like longer ones tbh.

Just over a 2 week turn around for custom dishes and barrels. I was shocked when they turned up so quick.

No more goodies for me now. I am straight up broke.

The day of mocking came last Sunday.

I used a bare head, bare block and gutted gearbox that could be lifted in to the engine bay. It is still heavy but one person can move it with abit of effort. It took two of us to get it in big shout to my mate Nic. I have done this so Arun can make me some new engine mounts so we can get the engine raised, tilted and moved forward in a bid to get the bonnet closed.

It started as this pile of junk.

Then I lost an hour of my life sharing at it haha.

I wanted a blank making for my dizzy. The blanks cost a bomb on ebay and are just a lump of metal. I thought we could make one using the old dizzy. Arun got my old gutted dizzy on his lath to make it flat, welded up the hole and then back on the lath to finsh. I love the details and how its turned out. Still has a part number and everything. Stern work lad!!

I am going to have real trouble hiding stuff. the engine is so small you can see it from all angles. I love a challenge.........

Just went through the old posts again and I didn't see which suspension you are running.

Also any more details on the current engine setup?

I am hoping for a around 90-100bhp. To get more would require a lot of money putting into the head and valves.
