Hello, are our Notepads gone or did I just overlook them in my profile?

    Thanks.

Is everything that was in the threads backed up or is it all gonna have to be recreated? And when you click forums is that a temp format?

Unfortunately these could not be copied to vBulletin, as the way they are handled is completely different.

Same goes for saved posts and your notepad. I really wish we could have given you guys some notice beforehand, but with the negotiations taking place, we were unable to do so.

    Please keep the comments/suggestions coming.

i have my wheels for sale and i had a couple of people IM me for questions. i dont see an IM History anymore im assuming its been replaced with Private Messages but, I dont see any users in there.Do i have to find the users or wait for them to IM me back??? or will my IM History from before be transfered to Private Messages? I also noticed Watched topics is the same deal. Do i have to go back to those threads and resubscribe?....oh yea and btw i like the old smiley faces better no more headbang, screwy, or cheers icon.....and i dont see an IM button under the users anymore

This happened to me also, twice now. Logged in at one forum; moved to another forum, composed a message to reply; message from site said that I had to log in. The login did not transfer. My message was lost. I'm also using Mozilla Firefox but version 3.6.3 if that matters.

    The search is really awful.
The default should be to search post titles.
More importantly, it doesn't work. I search simple phrases and get no results.... such as a search for 'BBS'

It's called your own hard drive on your computer. That way if if there is a crash on the forum you don't have 11ty billion people crying about info they have been collecting for 10 years but never backed up anywhere else. :p

Also, visually the thread pages need more contrast. Using light blue bordering to separate posts with dark blue scattered throughout the page looks weird.

Finishing moving over all the archived topics from ZeroForum (about 30% complete as of 5:07pm 5/8/10)
I've noticed that the search function doesn't seem to search much beyond the past few days. Is that a default setting, some setting I'm missing or a function of the above quote?

The background is the same, the headers need to be darker like they used to be, as can be seen here

    Glad the tex is back.

I think it looks very similar to the old setup. Do not like the forum choice page. Very hard to determine what subcategory to choose but its probably just the new look. The Border around the post header could be slimmed down a little bit to be closer in size to the reply button. I would like that border to be a bit darker if possible as well. Its a bit light and my crappy TN monitor makes it disappear at certain viewing angles. Other color issues is the quick reply border does not match the vortex blue from the reply button. Not sure why there is a +reply button at the top of the thread either. Seems a bit redundant as is the other reply buttons but I am sure that is being looked at. Thanks for the hard work guys.

    This.

It is much nicer to get a darker background. It makes viewing pictures more pleasing.

I agree with this. The blue in the main forum page needs to be toned down, and this white background has makes it so hard to browse the forums.

Yes I know the subscribed threads are there, I meant a link to where the threads in the subscriptions originated from, like threads from the MK4 forums having a link under the specific thread to the MK4 forum itself. Sorry if I didn't word it well before

I meant the number of posts in each thread, I know there's an option to change it under preferences but I think the default number of posts per page in a thread was more than the current default

BTW you guys are doing a great job with this move, really very pleased with how you guys are making do with the crappy situation

Yeah for ZF it was 35 posts a page and it was nice that it was locked like that (not changeable by users) so everyones page breaks are always at the same place...

Gotcha. I just set it site-wide to 30 posts per page.

Not that it really matters, but is there any way to set it to 35? Seeing "milestone" posts on the wrong pages would bug me, ha ha. The site is definitely coming along. I'm digging it a lot. Any plans for future enhancements you care to leak?

    This ^^^^^

In the previous software the "watched topics" had a link back to the original forum it was from. This was very usefull and is sorely missed.

For example if I responded to a thread in golf 1 parts forum and saw no response under that thread under my "watched topics", I could simply click on the forum link to see if anything similar was listed recently in golf 1 parts.

Unfortunately it's not currently possible. I'd like that too, but hopefully down the road. From the announcement:

"- Subscribed list does not show what forum the thread is in, only the title of the thread - Not possible with vB 4; possible plug-in to rectify in the future"

you can get a similar thing if you go into your profile, and hit find all posts...
you get a similar, slightly less up to the minute list, with forums listed next to the posts
