I just had the 40k service done yesterday (just rolled over 41k, actually - I was a little late.)

      Decent list:

      • Oil/Filter (full synthetic)
      • Rotate Tires
      • Replace Air Filter
      • Replace Pollen Filter
      • Check Airbags, Auto Shift Lock, Brakes, V-Belt, P/S Fluid, Transmission, Diff,DTC Memory, Axles
      • 27 point inspection/fluid top off
      • Replace Spark Plugs ($16 apiece? Wow - are they made of 24k gold?)

I also have a line item for 5115 BGDEPOSITKIT - anyone know what that is about? I'm wondering if it's this: BG Deposit Control Additive Test Kit. I had no driveability complaints, so I dunno why that's in there... I didn't ask for it.

There's also a line for "CUSTOMER PAY SHOP SUPPLIES FOR REPAIR ORDER" for $10. Again, anyone know what that is about? I had to pick up the car after hours, so I didn't have anyone knowledgeable to go over the bill with.

In total, a bit pricey at around $470 (after tax) but the car has been flawless and I'd like to keep it that way. And with service intervals of 10k, not so bad when you break it down.

The sparkplugs don't need to be replaced at 40k. The BG stuff is useless on our engines, skip it next time. I'd complain about that s**t. I'd also take a look at the sparkplugs to see if they were actually replaced. $470 for about $85 in parts.... A-holes.

Did the techs say anything about your APR tuning after they serviced your Tiguan?

$470? I'd laugh in their face and walk out of the dealership.

my dealership wants $540 plus tax for it. did they service your transmission and your haldex controller?? I was under the impression they did in the 40000 mile service.
