Keep the rings or Shave em?

Car is going to be repainted due to someone taking a key to it. So I am going to shave front license plate, aliens, possibly sidemarkers.

TT and quattro badges are already gone. Already ordered votex sides to go over banged up rockers.

Need help deciding whether to go with a FK badgless grill and shaving the rear audi rings, or keeping it stock.

Car is Amulet red if it helps. Its lower now :p

depends what you're looking for. im just going to sleek and clean so i took em off. and painted the ones on the grill black.

Do a 3 bar grill in the front with black rings and then take the rears off.

Keep em. I have an amulet red TT as well and debadged the rear quite some time ago. I fully intend to put black rings back on ASAP. I say go with no rings on grill, rings in back.

Old thread bump. Are the rear rings just held on by adhesive, aka you have to buy another one if you want black rings instead of painting the original?

Yeah, that was the response I always got with my badgeless GTI. I don't like badgeless grills on the front of the TT though.

i got pulled over one time for having no front plate and tinted windows.

the cop was a douche as usual, i had no badges or rings badgless grill and he after 15-20 mins of pondering had the nerve to come up and ask what kind of car it was...

the sad thing was he had my insurrance papers in his hand,. which list make, model and year.

so THAT goes to show cops are stupid. second it was F*cking HILARIOUS .

dont want to start argument either, i think its just the car guy who wants to drive around with tinted windows and no front plate. and as a car guy who gets pulled over for this reason alone, not speeding or driving crazy. YES the cop is an @sshole, and out of anger i call them stupid.
Also because on several occasions when im in need of police assistance, they either take too long or do whatever to make my situation feel "unimportant" as in my mind they are probably still busy pulling that car guy over to give him hundreds of dollars worth of fines for no front plate and tinted windows. but if this offended you i am sorry. it is my anger talking, as i think its stupid to pull someone over and give tickets for this reason alone, if i was speeding, driving crazy or being a danger to society, absolutley pull me over and add on all the fines you can.

Police and law enforcement hire from the same gene pool as everyone else, and as the result, there will always be that proverbial 10% who are either less than dedicated to their profession or ill-suited for the job. The rest of us care about ourselves, our colleagues, work hard to serve and protect, try our best to do the right thing when it matters, and bank on common sense, training and experience to get us home to our family every night.

It's cool man, just as long as we can express our opinions in a civilized manner and not throw down verbally on one another, it is all good.

Back on point: I would rock small black rings in the rear...

After mine was painted, I drove around for about 6 weeks without the rings, as the paint fully cured, at the request of my paint shop. By the time it was ready to go on, I was ready to have them back on....she needs her tramp stamp.
