Please say he wasn't the one I saw in the paper that led police on a brief chase and wound up with criminal-confinement charges, too?!?

Glad you weren't -- that would've sucked! (Or who knows -- maybe he wouldn't have acted so if he'd had calmer heads with him....) Either way, glad you didn't wind up personally involved!

Bumpity -- anyone else out there, or am I gonna have to register with Uberdubs (which has better people but slower forum software)?!?

  7. 09-09-2003 11:53 AM #1687
better ppl than the purdue thread? or the vortex.
i guess i'm regged at uber either way, so i'm not too offended.
i'm around, just been busy doing stuff.

Sorry 'bout that -- better people than Vortex in general, present company excluded!!!!! I'd just been rolling my eyes at the friggin' MkIV forum when I wrote that -- no offense meant to our local guys, who are regardless. It's just that the "tool/non-tool" ratio on the Vortex is getting pretty close to 1:1, at least in MkIV....

i feel like a slacker, i've just not had alot of time for my car or the tex. yes, i'm growing really tired of the whining and general b!tching on here, so much so that i only browse the mk2 forum once every few days instead of whenever i can get on the computer.

my brother, whos a freshman, is in the band. from what he says we were ahead by a few points, then we pulled a purdue and gave them the winning goal.

oh, keep an eye out for a kid in a brand new black lexus convertible. he passed me on mccormik, a double yellow, i was going at least 35-40 with the traffic (in a 30). he comes zipping past me, and pulls right in front of me, barely leaving me time to brake at the stop sign. all that so he could jump one car ahead in a 4 car line at the stop sign. he got the finger the whole way down the road. i got a finger back for a few seconds, and all i could think was, what do i deserve that for, for being a better driver than you? i was gonna call him in for wreckless driving, but i dont even know how the police handle that type of thing.

Thanks for the heads-up, Adam -- "hit list" (or is that "$hit list"?), which already included the red faded-paint second-gen MR2 Turbo with county-code 7 plates, now includes that Lexus. (Can't be too hard to spot -- not more than a few Lexus convertibles in town, and I don't think I've seen any black ones yet.)

I think I still have the exact license number on the MR2, if anyone wants to join the fun....

I'll be in Indy tomorrow, but I'll probably still be doing work-type stuff by then. If you can, though, PM me your cell number or something, so I can try to track all of you down if I get free earlier than I expected....

The sad thing is I could've done it myself had I known some of the people I know now...who do you think told them what the problem was....(me) It took one of our service guys a cigarette break to tell me what he thought the problem was, and guess what, he was right...kinda sucks it took them 10 hours or so to figure it out, and yeah who knows how long it would've taken had I not called and told them what I "thought" was the problem...I figured they would have atleast taken into account that and the fact that even if it was 10 hours, it still took them 2 1/2 months to put in 10 hours of work

did you ask them to cut you a break since you're the one who figured it out? what was the problem anyway?

Speaking of which, who would be up for a road trip to Libertyville this Sunday????

Hey Eric -- belated congrats on having your car running again! And if it's any comfort, look at it this way: Walter got three times as much money out of me than Dubwerks did out of you -- and when it was all done, I still had an 8v with an automatic and no working A/C!

My next couple of weeks (basically, through the end of the month) are going to be completely crazy -- if it tells you anything, I still haven't even found time finish touching up my fender, which my best friend's second-grader accidentally scratched with her bike! So even though I'll do what I can, don't count on my participation until October....

But if nothing else, I'll stop by Raisor one morning to check out the resurrected GTI!

Oh -- and Adam, I think I saw the same black Lexus you were talking about the other day. The top and windows were up, so I couldn't ID a driver, but there's probably only one black one in town (or at least so far, I've only seen red ones in town).... As for my MR2 nemesis, there's a similar-looking MR2 with Ball State plates, but he's friends with my parents' neighbors, so be sure not to get mad at the wrong guy!
