    that's my plan.

last close friend from college is graduating this year, so no other reason to really go back and get college drunk anymore.

definitely not going to the race. after doing it for a couple years, i'm blown out from the efforts and the people that run the grand prix are insufferable morons.

    Worth repeating...

Can't really speak on the normal GP, but the EV version we participated in that first year left me feeling exactly that...bad calls all day by people who seemed to know nothing about racing. I know very little, but knew more than most of them...

Nope, but there's a nice lowered UG MkVI GTI that frequently appears in a driveway on Creasy near the entrance to my neighborhood. Wonder whose it is — I don't think it lives there, but it sure does visit pretty often....

Have to put in a plug for Comcast customer service (and our resident Comcast rep)! Had an equipment issue that looked like a service issue, so they sent out a tech to take care of it. He called about 1/2 hour before he got here to tell me he would be here in about 1/2 hour, and he rolled up at 5:00 on the dot (the window for the appointment was 5-7). Found the problem and made sure we not only had Internet service back up and running, but also made sure the PC could see the modem.

And John called me right away to try and help me troubleshoot it when the issue first came up, just because he's good people.

Have you sat in one? I did at last year's Chicago Auto Show and something about it just felt more uncomfortable than any other car I've been in.

And it doesn't help that, as I recall, Fiat's return to the US market was part of this guy's agenda:

There was a guy who posted a review in TCL shortly after he bought one, and his assessment seemed to be that it's pretty mediocre.

I believe the "agenda" was to save Chrysler from itself because obviously they cant run a company for sh**. As i recall those jacktards were bleeding cash and was set to go belly up in a few weeks or months if they didnt get any help.

While Fiat might have been the right thing to do as part of a comprehensive plan to save Chrysler, I don't think bringing the 500 here is a substantial contributing factor to Chrysler's long-term viability. But I recall that this was a selling point, at least as the plan was pitched to the general public.

With how well chrysler is doing i dont think the 500 is hurting them one bit. It's chrysler that is making fiat look good. And now that fiat has helped them piece together the dart dodge finally has a player in the 40mpg market.

Chrysler wouldn't have needed saving if it weren't for these fine German folks...

Swept in, grabbed all the R&D that they could take, killed off any viable vehicles Chrysler had (like the neon), created some terrible ones (like the Nitro and the Caliber), and then fire saled it off to Cerberus...

No, it's not hurting them, but I don't think it's going to help them either...

And Alfa has a reputation (at least among those who recall Alfas that were sold here) for running well, on the occasions that they run. I don't know what Alfas have been like since that time, but I do know how good Chrysler is at building a nicely polished turd, so I don't exactly have high expectations for the Dart, regardless of initial hype. Hopefully they surprise us all...
