Looking for some help: I have a vintage Garrard Model 50 turntable that is in need of a needle/cartridge. I checked out a couple sites but can't seem to figure out which one I need.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

So I pulled the Garrard apart and I see that I have a Ronette 105 cartridge with a rotating needle setup that does 33-45RPM on one side then 78RPM on the other. I found a guy on eBay who has the 78RPM needle listed, emailed to see if he has the other needle as well.

My current IKEA EXPEDIT bookcase is no longer doing it for me so I'm looking for a decent forward facing option for storing and browsing through my collection of vinyl LPs. Here are the options I've discovered so far in order of ascending price:
slightly ghetto DIY rack using 1 sheet of plywood
slightly less less ghetto but still not pretty pre-fab rack from LPBIN
International Displays metal record stand (ships from UK?)
$650 stainless steel and wood industrial looking rack from loft3f
Any other readily available options I've overlooked? There's nothing at the local goodwill stores.
I'm not really finding exactly what I want so it looks as though I will end up having to go custom DIY to get what I want at a price I'm willing to pay for. I'll probably fab something similar to the loft3f unit but with the addition of drawers at the bottom or between the upper and lower levels to hold supplies. I need to decide whether to go with mild steel and get it nickel plated or if I should just go stainless.

Thanks for the kudos on the Rotel setup. I'm helping a friend who sells vintage gear get online with eBay and Craigslist, and he traded me these pieces in return.
He has had some very cool gear to enjoy before sale:

Damn, I'd like to have a Pioneer like that... my grandfather had one just like it. I used to spin the tuner dial back and forth.![]()

Here's the newest piece of the collection, a Techniques SL-QL1 linear heavyweight turn table. That's a piece of cat hair that I missed when I took the shot.

I may have asked you in the OT vintage thread, but what is wrong with the Expedit that you don't like? All of the options you posted look like garbage and only hold a few dozen records.
Ooooohhh....a 9600. I have a 7600 and I love it. It needs a bit of work like the pots cleaned but everything works including the lamps as far as I can tell. The thing is, I've never seen another picture of one that has the rack style handles like the 9600 and mine do. What gives? All of the ones I have seen have the cheezy wooden surround. This worries me because one of the handles got damaged and I am trying to source another.

I have too many records for my modified 4x4 Expedit and I don't like browsing for albums with the spine facing me. I'd much rather flip through records with the front cover facing me like when shopping at the record store. I've decided to expand upon the loft3f theme of stainless steel and wood but I'm going to make my top shelf 2-tiered and I'm going to add a drawer between the upper and lower section for accessories (record brush, stylus cleaner, cables). Instead of walnut I'm going to use a nice cherry wood to match my other furniture. This setup will easily handle 500+ albums. My only question is whether it will have built-in switchable LED lighting to make browsing records easier in a dimly lit music listening room.

While it's not vintage, my Mom had me carry an old TV of ours out of the house. We've had this thing ever since I can remember, but I never really looked at it since I got older.
I was surprised to see that it was a Goldstar. If you aren't ware, Goldstar was part of the merger with Lucky which eventually became LG in 1995. Like I said, it's not super old, but I have never seen a Goldstar anything.
