I'm glad my experience is not the norm:
I just took the 034 track mounts out and the shape they were in after less than 12k miles is pathetic. I had the trans mount fail inside of 1k miles. Granted, that was replaced, but the condition of them upon removal makes me very glad I moved to the dli mounts.

I do not have enough seat time yet, but do far, they are exactly what I was after.

You did re-tighten the 034's after the first install right? If you don't they will work in and then turn to crap, how did the trans mount fail by the way, I have picked up a little slack when getting on and off the pedal... we'll see what happened when pulling the rear perches this weekend, wish me luck...

Would one have to retighten the DLI mounts?

  7. 10-21-2011 11:06 AM #217
You'd at least want to re-check your torques on all of the bolts after 500 miles or so.

Has anyone in the states stocked these yet or is everyone still buying from overseas?

They were checked often - never needed to be tightened, but they were re-torqued after 100 miles.

The trans mount was a sloppy mess within 200 miles - completely movable by hand, easily. (and as noted, INA came correct and replaced that one)

~2500 miles later, they were all in horrid shape - a 4 year old could move them all over the place. And the dog-bone (034) fared no better. The shop that does all my work felt that I should be asking for a refund, sending the blown mounts back to them. They were adamant that there should be no way that any mount should be in such shape so soon.

The way I see it, 034 either cares or they don't. INA was the vendor they came from, and they KNOW that those have a high rate of failure and I do not believe they carry them any longer. So I was part of a failed experiment, or rather, I tried an experiment and it failed. I am not going to go through the effort to send them back in hopes they decide to give me my money back - best I would really hope for would be replacement mounts, and I have the DLI's in now, so that would be MORE trouble to then sell the replacements on the classifieds, all the while, not knowing if I am screwing someone over with mounts that will fail.

I have cut my losses and moved on. And I am very, very pleased with the DLI experience. The feel plus the construction quality have me feeling like these should have been what I went to first, and they would likely feel as good today (years later) as they did going in. I just don't see these DLI mounts wearing out.

These have held up well since I replaced the bolt. I dont really drive the car very hard now, just highway commuting.

I recommend doing as others and check the mounts after a couple hundred miles or so.

Hey Josh, think you can keep this thread updated after your turbo install? I'm interested to see how they hold up with the torque.

I ordered and received mine within about seven days. Very fast shipping for coming from Sweden!

Now I'm itching to put them in...

that's exactly correct slight vibration revving passed 1k and thats it.

i have a set for sale used about 9k miles... daily driven and never beat on my car is NA and i want it to last forever...lol. My honest opinion is they definitely give less vibration than say a "track" set of mounts, however you will notice more of the transmission noise coming thru a little higher pitched (which is good or bad depending on taste i guess). As for performance and doing their job movement-wise, they are top notch and feel planted and great...shifting always felt solid with zero slop.

PM me an offer if interested... i'll be taking pics and posting a thread hopefully tomorrow!

I've got a set of DLI mounts on the way (sick deal in the classifieds). If I re-use the bolts to install them which is better:

    1) Use Loctite when I install them, torque to spec, done

    2) No Loctite, torque to spec, check/tighten after 500 miles

I didnt use loctite but arent they stretch bolts? I'd just buy new bolts from an ace hardware or something like that.

Hmm, is a torque wrench necessary or can you just tighten the bejesus out of them with some loctite?

One last question... do you reuse bolts from the stock mounts? What size are they if the best idea is to replace them? I bought mine used and I only was given the four bolts that attach to the round cylinders. Thaaanks
