I stumbled onto this thread via DLI's website. Some very good info in here.
I've been considering these mounts for quite some time and after reading the reviews on here, it's a dead cert now
I note with interest the mixed opinions on VF's motor mounts. I tried them once, a long time ago, and took them off almost immediately as they were truly awful.
I just understand the point of them, or mounts like them. The role of a motor mount is to absorb and dissipate the energy of 180Kg of dead weight jumping about on them. VF mounts do nothing of the sort. Instead they transfer this energy to other parts of the car. Back in the day when we were playing with solid mounts, things used to fracture and break because the mount wasn't doing what it was supposed to do.
So it's a refreshing change to see a motor mount company thinking outside the box
FWIW, the mounts I'm currently using are Vibratechnics, which are also very good. Not sure if you guys get them in the states? But I want that little extra now.
Since you have the Vibratechnics, and I a few people here have expressed interest in them, what would you say are the downsides? I mean, what is causing you to think of swapping to the DLIs?
What is the setup on your car? Turbo'd? How much power? etc...
I'm also interessed by buying some engine mounts that can last long enough with my setup.
I currently have a V6 4mo, turboed, with 500hp 600nm, and my BFI stage1 mount just exploded yesterday, since I've put the longer gears, seems that long torque stress does not suit the BFI's
have to mention that the BFI may have around 3000km only...
SO my main question is :
Does the DLI can handle high torque setups? and does it last long?

Quick question for those that have installed these in a 04 R..
Are the spacers for the transmission mount bigger than the opposite side engine mount? Or all the same?
Want to clear something up. Thanks
You don't make any sense, and it's not even IMHO, it's science. If you want the motor to move less... then it is going to transmit more movement/vibration the to uni body. End of story. I still think the biggest issue with any of these mount is people not installing them correctly and binding everything up.
Well after saying I was going to get these over 2 years ago, I finally got my mounts and installed and love them.
Vibrations are minimal maybe a touch around 2k rpm but that's all I noticed and I was really looking for it. Nothing you'd notice driving normally. Small bit of gear whine like others have said but I like that. Getting on it and switching gears is effortless. Can't recommend them enough.
I finally got a chance to install the DLI mounts I picked up out of the classifieds with the replacement parts I had to order from DLI.
I have to agree with the other reviews and comments. There is no added vibration but quite a bit of added noise. It makes driving the R a much more visceral experience which I find very appealing. They also seem to have tamed the clunk I was getting when lifting off the throttle while in a steady cruise.
Any talk about price needs to consider that the US dollar isnt exactly what you would call 'strong' at the moment...
Great for us folks that want to buy parts from the USA though
Since then the exchange rate for USA customers has improved, but the cost of the mounts has also gone up in europe.
Your price of SEK 1850 per mount includes VAT s far as I am aware, so there is roughly 20% to take off that estimate, so, around SEK 1550 per mount from my calculations.
I am glad everyone else is having a better experience then I did with the DLI's.

R32.Deviant is running VibraTechnik mounts on his HPA Blackjack Turbo in England. they ar about 400 per mount... no dogbone iirc... but am unsure.
Im thinking about trying them out. I was hesiteant about the DLI mounts with Boost, but i think im gonna save and use the VFs for now.
James- let us know how u like the Delrin option for the VF mounts.
I did everything I could to make these work in my car (550 BHP) with 3 different dogbone set ups; stock, stock with inserts and VF's with fresh bushings. I even double checked all my bolts, transition pieces and bolt holes. Nothing stripped, nothing loose, nothing missing, everything torqued 100% by the book. They just didn't work for my application.
oh, somehow i think i missed that.
Well see i guess, I still have other stuff to do prior to me putting the motor back in.. so luckily for me i have time
I was just wondering, with the dissatisfaction that you had, did you have any discussions with DLI Teknik about the issues? Did they provide any feedback?
It is a great product, I just think there may be a horsepower/torque limit. I sold mine but if anyone is in Eastern, NC and wants to swap mounts to compare DLI's to anything else then I am available. Again, I am back on VF's mounts.
