I had a productive weekend. I was able to graft the wing and power window wiring to the mk4 harness.

I haven't been on much preparing for H20. So whats the status? Is Jettaboy still around to make a "mold" or whatever?

Lets stamp some steel, and I am glad to see you still at it.

So... the car finally made it to the shop in Toronto. You would not believe the trouble I had to get it there. I hope to see progress in a weeks time. I did have it planed to be worked on at the begining of the month but it never made it there for the appointment. So now I have to wait for a open slot

I have a lead on a passat syncro rear end locally, only thing I am worried about is the gas tank. What kind of solutions do you see for the gas tank, could the passat one be modified and plastic welded to be smaller and not hang so low or would a custom aluminum fuel cell be the best route? I figured you would have more insight then most on this.

Get it and I will take the tank so you can get a fuel cell. Its easier to run the bigger tank in an SLC because the floor is Higher already to accommodate the 18 gallon tank.
Fuel cell or Rallye Golf floor and tank for you sir.

And why on earth would you even consider messing with an ABS plastic tank????

I figured I could section the tank and make it smaller. As far as a fuel cell, I would if it were possibe to put it in the stock location and use the stock gas filler. I don't want a aluminum box in my trunk for gas, needs to look oemish.

This is a Haldex Build thread. Not a Syncro Q&A session

Seriously though, post this question in your own thread. BTW, it has been answered a bunch of times. Pass tank looks like crap on a Corrado.

still waiting for the shop to have a free hoist that they can dedicate the swap for. This isn't a quick job.

Rob, let me know when you want to borrow that S/F jig to move the trans cup as I got it back from Mike. Just holler when you are ready and I can have it to you in a few days

Unless it is easier for me to just take some detailed measurements for you against a stock S/F which I have an extra of. Either way is fine by me!

      Thx
I'm in no hurry for it at this time. I want to get started with the floor first before anything else gets worked on.
