I got a question, what's the law on swapped engines? Do you need paperwork for them? In ny they are strict as hell about that but nj isn't.

With the way state inspection works in MA, any regular inspector won't notice. Especially if you aren't doing some crazy swap.

Yeah, if it's a non-sniffer test year car they usually don't even open the hood.

They don't do "sniffer" testing anymore, It is all done through the OBD2 connector. 97 model years and up have to pass all the monitor tests such as EVAP, secondary air, etc.

I don't have a title for the vr in my Mk3 or my bus. Looking to move up there once I find a house. Sniff test numbers suck lol

97 and earlier do not need to be hooked up to the OBD2 port but the MIL must be out.

Actually I just got a sticker! And it doesn't smoke unless I floor it from a standstill. Bigger turbos need time to build boost ya know?

I made some progress on the R32 this week. I straightened out the exhaust tips by replacing a worn out mount, finally not off center! Also replaced the rear stretch bolts on the subframe and eliminated the creak and finished clay baring the whole car.







Installed 3K halogen high beams and enabled flash to pass with the VCDS, also put the full PerformanceLED kit in.




Time to start replacing suspension/mounts! BTW does anyone have a set of 10mm spacers sitting around?

No he was right with 97. As of January 2013, 98s will be exempt as well. Any car 15 years or older is exempt.
