How's this sound though? "posting progess on your tough mudder training on your teammates facebook wall? its nice to motivate your teammates and pick up training tips."
    Sound familiar?

    Ahem...

    .....

Yeah, you don't sound like the type who would brag about it once you've accomplished it.

well, your analogy would make sense except for the fact that facebook is a general social networking site without a defined topic, and i post in a weightlifting progress thread.

the nosebleed comment was obviously a joke.

Well, your rebuttal would make sense except for the fact that I would be running the tough mudder with people I actually know in real life and who aren't just random names on forums. Communicating is communicating. If I choose to do it on a general social networking site with no defined topic (which implies all topics are fair game) or on a topic specific subforum shouldn't matter.

Whether or not I have actually met the people I'm 'speaking' to should be the deciding factor in which medium I use to communicate.

Hate to interrupt the bickering, but has anyone considered doing this?

The premise is similar to SFQC selection. You have tasks and conditions, but they don't tell you the standards. From my experience, people do not quit from physical exhaustion, but from mind fvcking themselves during the events.

If I wasn't working 100+ hour weeks until May I'd love to give it a go. I've heard even the shorter spartan races are beastly. A few of my friends did a 5k "Spartan Sprint" out here and the winning time was over 40 minutes.

Personally I'd just like to do a Super Spartan(their ultradistance race) and go from there. Death Race sounds insane though.

Did the one in Paige Tx ( Austin) this past weekend. Went at it alone. But still had a great time. Messed up my shoulder some how. But I'm getting a team together for the one in April. if no I'll just wait till Oct. It was cool outside but I got some major cramps from dehydration with 2 miles to go. My advice drink alto of sodium before the race.

Tough Mudder is my goal next year! I've done two Warrior Dashes with the second being almost 7 minutes faster then the first. And I ran a RockSolid located in Englishtown NJ which is a 5 mile 30 obstacle race. It was a blast! I just want to be able to complete a tough mudder and not worry about my time.

You can't worry about time in the TM because it gets so backed up and you have no control over it. It is mind over matter more than anything else.
