Do eeeeet!!!! I love that bike. I had a 2007 Tuono myself and that platform is just SOOOO much fun. Black is the best color too.

No, not a new RSV-4 but something more in my price range.
First, here is the bike I bought last year that started the Aprilia addiction (2001 RSV Mille):
And here is the possible new (to me) bike: 2004 RSV Factory with about 2500 miles - actual photos - the seller has a photo studio:

out of curiosity... why is the bodywork unpainted? carbonius fiber maybe?
#4
There is carbon fiber but the side panels are not, they are just painted flat black from the factory - it was an OEM color option that I think plays homage to the previous generation RSV that could be had in all flat black. The right side "R" decal is messed up but the seller is including a new one with the purchase. Here is a press photo: http://www.mcnews.com.au/Wallpaper/A...F_RHF_1024.jpg
My 2001 Mille was originally all flat black until the original owner decided he wanted something different.

Good eye - I caught that too. Yes, he did replace that plastic. Owner fully disclosed all that happened to the bike even before came and looked at it. It is what it is. Pipes and swingarm have a few dings and scratches and a few other minor odds and ends that I could correct for about $200. It will never be show-room perfect but I am getting it for about a third of the price when it was new and that doesn't even include the upgrades.
The owner is a very cool guy. He is 63 and after he went down on this one, his wife said he should start acting his age. His other bike is a 1098S Tricolor that has like 250 miles on it but I think he is going to try to keep that. I also wouldn't mind having his 993 Turbo
If everything goes as planned (how often does that happen?), I should have it this weekend.

Beautiful bike. I really like Apes and almost picked up a Futura for a steal, however the guy selling it basically talked me out of buying it (must've been forced to sell it or something and didn't want to) by telling me parts are impossible to find, service sucks etc.
I also really like the Tuono, while window shopping for one sat on the RSV4. I was surprised how small it was, I bet you can throw that thing around. Let us know how it goes.

Very nice - that's exactly like my one. Presumably you've seen the aprilia forums and the, umm, "peculiarities" such as rear brake problems with the bike.
My bike (shameless whoring out of pics):

Exactly the same - awesome! Yours looks nicer though
Yes, I know the "peculiarities" quite well as some are shared with my 2001 including the rear brake issue. I actually cured my rear brake a couple months ago by simply putting a wait on the rear brake lever for a couple days and it has been fine since.

if you get it, I think my sign shop owner friend still has my MS lion head graphic in his computer. I had him make one for my 2000 Mille & also made some extras to sell on ebay. It fills that black side fairing nicely & really looks clean & classy when installed. One in goold would look sweet on that bike. I'll try to dig up the picture of a gold one I sold. The customer sent me a picture after he put them on.

Here's some pics on his bike & mine. The last picture shows how it has a fade like the factory Mille sticker on the front fairing. His is an earlier model (02 I believe) than the one you're getting so your actually has more surface area, not as much would be in the vent. Mine is the 2000

Looks pretty cool - I especially like how it fades. As I have said before, love the exhaust on your 2000.
The seller did tell me that he is going to also include a complete set of decals from a newer RSV1000 that has a large lion on both sides. Will have to compare them when/if I pick it up.

Just got back a few hours ago. This bike is so awesome! Seller mistakenly wrote down the odometer in the KM setting though...bike only has 1200 miles!

And the price....$6,800 - came with a complete decal kit, another tank decal kit, spare sprockets, a rear pit bull stand, 3 oil filters, stock exhaust system, stock rearsets and a rough set of race plastics. This bike was about $18K new not including the aftermarket exhaust and rearsets.

That's a really good price you got for it. When I got mine a couple of years ago I thought I got a good deal for it for $8,000 with 3,800 miles on the clock, but yours sounds even better. Granted it hadn't ever been dropped or had anything replaced on it (stock cans), but you've got a ton of extra goodies with it that you can either keep or sell.
#21
You got a great deal as well. Was just reading this - would be a good option if you would like to lighten your stock exhaust, slightly increase HP and open up some of that sweet engine music: http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...d.php?t=135698

Sweet bike! I've always loved this one.
Do they have special maintenance requirements like a Ducati? My $3k monster is due for its past due for its $800 service.![]()

Ok cool. It's the labor rates for adjusting valves that costs a lot on the ducs. The belts and other parts are reasonable.
