Rode my brand-spanking-new HD EG Ultra to the Catskills for the weekend and ended up doing maybe 350 miles through constant rain and mud.

I took this picture to annoy a friend of mine who's a clean freak:

Started last night by pulling the battery out to try to find the 10mm socket I dropped in while connecting my battery tender cable:

Couldn't find the socket so I got to cleaning instead. Started at about 10 this morning and finished about an hour ago:

      Ready for the next trip.

installed heated grips. they're fused, but not relayed yet. will do that next week. having toasty warm hands for the ride home was nice.

Been riding my new bike to work the last few days, but too busy to remember to check the tire pressures. It was 16 in the front and 22 in the rear.

      Steers much quicker now.

I have the gsxr on mine, makes a big difference but now you gotta do something about that front end, I went cheap(er) with racetech springs.
I tell them to tackle the concrete at walking speeds and re-think their position.

I took mine for what I thought would be a nice spirited ride. First I got stuck behind a semi on my favorite road and then a pretty large loose dog tried to attack me and I clipped it. The dog was alright though, kept chasing me down the street. Really ruined my mood to ride so I just went home.

I re-did the forks with Race Tech springs, Gold Valve and Silkolene 7.5wt. oil a couple weeks ago. That in itself was a huge improvement.

Went for a 90 mile ride today. Looped around a couple times exploring new roads. Played in some sand, dirt and gravel roads. Almost lost it once or twice. Good times. 2/3rd's through stopped at Five Guys for a late lunch.

Rode more than 1,300 miles over the past five days.

My wrists are a bit sore -- forgot my throttle rocker.

Pulled off the wheel in anctiaption of getting a new tire. Literally buy the Blast, get a flat, and my wife lays it down. She, and the bike are fine, low speed low side. Flat and low side were unrelated, just thick gravel on the road.

I got my 72 CB350 back from the shop today! I was so excited I just got it about a month and a half ago and it started backfiring about 2 weeks ago.

Not sure. I saw a regular version last year at the same place was going for close to $30,000 so I didn't even bother asking for this race version.

Started tearing apart my brand new 2011 Honda CBR125R in preparation for winter modifications.

      On the agenda:
Set up front forks to get the sag and ride height correct (done)
New rear shock (on order - should get it this week)
Rearsets with reverse shift pattern (rearsets on order, I'll have to fabricate a piece of linkage to get the shift pattern reversed)
Shorten the snorkel on the airbox intake (done)
High compression piston (out for coating, should have it back this week)
High lift camshaft (already have it, need to put it in the engine)
Thin base gasket (will need to make it - to raise the compression a little - but I'll have to measure all the clearances first so as to get the thickness correct)
      Degree the camshaft
Programmable fuel injection controller (still need to order it)
Wire the front turn signals as running lamps
HID headlamp (still need to order it)
LED running lamps (still need to order them)

A lot of this is based on what I've already done to my previous-model 2007 CBR125, which ought to take a lot of the trial and error out of this. Still have the modded '07, very fun bike.

      On the buell:
Put the wheel back on after getting a Pirelli Diablo mounted.
Put on a acerbis cyclops headlight to replace the Blazer fogs masquerading as headlights.

I just had a new pair of tires mounted up on the GS:

Heidenau K60 Scouts.. thickest dual-sport tire carcass I have ever seen. I put about 200 miles on them this weekend and they seem just about as sticky on the street as my Metzler Tourances were.

      I'm almost done!

      Still to do:
Make a little bracket for holding the rear brake reservoir (easy)
Make a little lever for flipping the shift pattern over
Make and install a little protector for the braided hose for the rear shock reservoir
      Install the fairings

Bike wouldn't start the other night, had it outside for over a week and somehow got water in the gas tank. Took the tank off, drained out all the gas, put new fuel in and she started right back up!
