but its a long weekend, so i'd be surprised if it doesnt end up mounted.

    any update on the FE?

Received the new license plate in the mail from DMV today. I ditched the cheap-o plastic screws and nuts that came from the Tiumph factory and bought some stainless allen bolts and hardware. Mounted up my new plate and added the registration card to the small bag under the side cover.

I went for a little ride and crossed a little stream.

I had already crossed by this point so yeah, that isn't me falling over on the GS. I just got water in my boots and a pair of wet socks.

I did something each day this weekend:

*Yesterday, my girlfriend helped me slap on the fuel tank knee pads
*Today, I installed the Triumph flyscreen

I didn't do anything to my bike but I did receive this in the mail from a friend of mine in the UK.

I tried to play it on my $40 Phillips DVD and no dice since it was the wrong region.

I then took it upon myself to google "change region on cheap Phillips DVD" which led me to a hack page which gave me the instructions on how to unlock the regions I needed.

A few quick clicks and the picture appeared on the screen, no fuss no muss.

This was my face tonight --->

I replaced the parking brake cable on the Burgman. Took three hours because the entire front plastics need to be removed. Ended up with 2 screws and 1 plastic rivet left over and quite frankly I don't give a damn.

I had my suspension adjusted for my weight today. Absolutely amazing difference. I recommend everyone to do this if you have the chance. The bike feels like a new bike and I have so much more confidence in its behavior. Awesome.

I've been meaning to setup my suspension, for my weight, also...
I'm ~200lbs, and my guess, is that the ZX10 is probably setup for around 150lbs.

What weight are the Ducati's setup for from the factory? ...And how far off was it?

most bikes are in the 150-175lb range (with gear) it seems.

setting pre-load takes 5 minutes on most bikes, and can have a huge impact on performance.

Curious what this means. Did you pay someone to dial in the adjustments on your adjustable suspension? Or did you swap parts?

Last winter I loaded new (much heavier) springs and some Race Tech emulators into my damper-rod forks. Unfortunately it looks like I still have quite a bit of tuning to do. I think they are too harsh and I think I need to relax the preload on the RT emulators. Although I would like to learn how to properly set pre-load as well. Still working on understanding how that is done.

rode to work 3 days in a row...

first day i got stuck in some rain on the way home

second day i rode through the rain in the morning to enjoy the high 70's on the way home

today i enjoyed a gorgeous morning ride followed by a high 80's ride home

washed her tonight, adjusted clutch cable (see if it fixed my difficulty to get neutral), and cleaned/lubed chain

may adjust chain tomorrow, i need to research the tolerances first

SV? I bet it is like my DL: About an inch of total play.

I rode to work today too. Sweated my balls off riding home. This ATGATT bit is tough.

Loose is better than tight with valves and chains, but not much else. I wouldn't screw with it unless it were clearly over say 1.5". But that's me.
