Rode her to work today. Getting more comfortable on the bike, opened the throttle quite a bit more. The old twin still has plenty of torque.

No. I was out on my own as far as the ride went. My husband took the train and met me there.

Put some gasket maker on the manual cam chain tensioner that was weeping a bit of oil. Also took a big ole power drill and put 4 3/8 holes each in the baffle on each of my cans. Loving the new throatier booming vtwin pulses this thing has. I'm hesitant to go to 8 holes each side, seeing as its gone from sewing machine to thump thump, also don't want to affect jetting.

Just finished installing some P3 LED running/brake lights. I have installed these on both previous bikes. In running light mode, they are bright and emit a very rapid flicker/pulse that draws attention - but not a true flashing that would violate any laws. Apply the brakes and the lights 'go nuclear' - they get super bright in a programmable flashing pattern - I have mine set to flash four times fast then four times slow then come on steady. $125 for the set, but I love these lights.

Last night I drilled out the broken mirror mount, and today, I dressed the threads and discovered that they weren't damaged enough to justify fooling around with a Helicoil. Used about 1/4 stick of Loctite 248 on the new mount pin. Hopefully it holds and I don't have to drill it out further.

red or blue are illegal in all states and provinces. In some states its considered a felony (impersonating a police vehicle). I believe it is also considered tacky in almost all states (NJ and Florida may be exceptions).

*Tonight after my ride home from work I removed my useless-to-me passenger footpegs (I never ride 2 up). I wanted to replace them with stainless allen bolts but Ace Hardware didn't have ones long enough, so I used black ones instead:
