Today I finally fit 500 mi since purchase. Next ride will be to the dealer to have the break-in service performed.

I rode for a couple hours this morning with a coworker who just bought himself a new Suzuki, so he needed to put some miles on his machine too. We traveled the winding mountain roads outside the Morgan Hill/San Jose area that run along the reservoirs. Lots of fun and it was a beautiful day for it.

Took the case apart of the '66 Suzuki Hustler

Found the problem. Broken shifter fork due to an exceptionally heavy left foot and also it's 46 yrs old.

Beefed up the charging system and changed the thermostat. Tomorrow is a throttle balance job...then I think it'll be time for a shakedown run.

Got it started. I kind of need a battery like, um, yesterday. I need two more starts that produce a sustained running condition to get it home.

Yesterday I installed my Memphis Shades Speed Demon. I was pretty hesitant to install a shield but it actually doesn't look too bad. It's a quick disconnect too so nice and easy to remove when not in use.

Not the best pics but they get the point across.

Rode it to the dealership for its 500 mile break-in service.

Oh wow. As I was typing the first line in this post, they called me to say it is done already. Sweeeeet!

broke C2 Vertebra in a four wheeler accident in 2008. many screws and rods. in 2010 the screws started pulling apart. They re-did it and added 6 screws 2 rods and fused the bones together. Broke hip, all ribs one right side, collapsed lungs and broke my foot. I have some awesome scars.

I have a paralyzed vocal cord either from the impact or from the surgeries.

^Wow, you're lucky to not be paralyzed or in worse condition; but I'm sure you hear that all the time. Must have been a gnarly wreck though.

*Today, I rode my bike the 40 miles home from the dealership and installed the accessory skid plate. Apparently while I was doing so, my g/f took a picture.

Started to measure to make a rack for my bike. Nobody makes a rack for a Nighthawk 750 for side cases, so I'm going to make one.
    Buy my Nighthawk?

    I have the hotbodies undertail...

I also removed my reflectors, and rear pegs since I do not all passengers. Plus I replaced the seat with a seat cowl.
