dropped the bike off early april. FINALLY got it back about a week ago. (rebuilding and repairing a 22 year old FZR600 would be easier if parts were a) available b) still produced c) easily diagnosed d) all the above..Answer is d).

Since then, scrubbed the bike clean from sittining in shop for 2+ months. Scrubed and oiled the chain and adjusted tension.

Now im getting re-aquainted with the old gal. Drove 10K last summer. 2k this spring, and then it went into the shop. Hoping to do another 5-10K this year. (kms fwiw). Still, Lots of riding to do).

Yesterday I did a 'track day' with my V-Strom. I have never ridden that hard in my life. Beat the **** out of my tires, brakes, and my legs!

Sign rolling out of the infield says "Welcome back to speed limits". Indeed.

installed my 42 tooth along with a new DID chain.
also changed the front pads from OEM to EBC HH sintered pads (holy friction batman)

next up changing my lower triple clamp to drop the offset from 16 down to 14.

Granted I changed to non bent rotors which helped tons, but switching to those ebc hh pads was a huge improvement as well.

I put those on my SV and flushed fluid before my ERC. During the stopping drill the instructor of 15 years told me he had never seen a bike stop as fast as mine

Cleaned and waxed the chain. Aligned the front-end (a lot more involved than I thought ) which turned out to be pretty much in line in the beginning and gave her a much needed bath (sorry, no photos )

Next weekend is coolant flush/replacement and some rewiring on the shoddy job that the guy did for the lights on the rearend. They work fine, just bugs the hell out of me how horrible the wiring job was

Greased the fork stanchions right above the seals. Will do again tomorrow morning before I sit my butt on the bike and compress the fork. Hopefully this removes a bit of the stiction I have been noticing lately.

also... thoroughly enjoyed the nice, cool weather this morning. I need to figure out a twisty way to work. The highways are not cutting it any more. There is one and only one thing I miss about Philly: Riding home from Valley Forge to Manayunk on the 23 and Old Gulph Road/Spring Mill Road. I can only imagine how much fun those would be on a bike. I want to tear through the ford in the road and get slideways and power out of it up the hill like a crazy motocross rider with my feet sticking out and all.

Sv: finally put on the f3 wheel with new sprocket and cush. Rides fine
Romano's track sv: made a list of parts in need of repair or replacement... It's a big list...
Nsr: gear oil, chain, etc. Still need to fix fibeeglass and get new fasteners
Crf: pulled the wacky oily engine out and put in a whole i bought online (will see how it works out) ran out of time before getting fuel and stuff hooked up.

Not bad for vacation day 1... (i took off work to go to indy motogp, that fell through, so i now have 5 days of staycation)

    - Cleaning/waxing chain
    - Washing/Polishing/Waxing Bike from top to bottom

... is finally over. It was totally worth it

Cleaning? Bleh. Dirt under 1" doesnt affect performance and over 1" falls off by itself.

I found a nail in my DAY OLD sv tire. Off it comes for an inside plug.
The crf is almost done. Need a carb rebuild and a clutch lever. But i rode it around with no clutch and weird carb issues anyway.

I cleaned mine today...got the grime off of it from riding a bit in the rain and from sitting in the parking lot at work all week.

Oh and yesterday evening I felt like doing a little tinkering. It hit me that I hadn't ridden my Guzzi with the stock exhaust can on it...I had a Mistral carbon fiber can put on it before I took delivery. So for the heck of it, I put the stock exhaust on it and took it for a ride.

2 hours later (after the stocker got cool enough to touch), the Mistral was back on. Its not that the stock can is bad...it's just heavy and waaaaayyyyyyy too quiet. It's a shame to have an Italian V-twin muffled down so quiet.

Tomorrow: a ride in the Rockies, no particular destination in mind.

Got the rear plugged with a mushroom and vulcanizing plug. Scored a free clutch lever and perch in the process.

Then soldered a rr plug on my buddy's customer's gixxer, changed a 1125rr tire (btw, what a pain in the rear job, the axle is left threaded and the swingarm was too wide for all our stands), changed some innertubes on a dirtbike, replaced a chain and sprocks on another gix... I guess i spent like 5hrs in my buddys shop helping him earn money and stuff.

Left it at work, because I gashed my fingertips at work and can't squeeze the clutch lever.

I have better bandaging on now, I'll pick it back up tomorrow.

Technically I didn't do sh*t, but I paid and rode it home. Finally back from the shop with new fuel pump, Factory pro intake, timing rotor and jet kit. It went from too fast, to wayyyy to fast. Huge sh*t eatin' grin on my face the entire way home. Now to give it a decent clean up.

    R1 Shopping tomorrow....
