you have probably already thought about it but why dont you take off the shift weight sand it smooth and paint that also

Actually, I did. There is only so many things i can do in a 3 hour day. My concern at the moment, is to get everything i don't need out. After that, go back and re do everything that was sloppy. Once I get the car running again then Im gonna worry about smaller things

it looks really good. i have removed everything PCV, evap, SAI.

It really cleans out the bay alot.
Next thing i have planned is relocating the battery and tucking the wires.

very cool well your project is looking cool. i was wondering two other things.

!: all the nasty sealer vw globs on from the factory. around the strut towers are you getting rid of that and running just enough to seal the metal at the seams. ( in the future) i think it would be nice

2: what software are you going to be or running currently

you could just get a dieselgeek short shifter or a neuspeed one then you dont have to worry about taking off that crappy stock piece which will probably strip itself out eventually(happened to me at around 100k miles).

any plans on changing the intake manifold?

The gold theme is looking good but im not so sure of gold mounts/valve cover etc and then a polished intake mani. Seems a bit out of place for me.

very curious about the inline coolant filler neck and how you rerouted your plumbing to eliminate the reservoir.
