As the title states. Im looking to see how they look on GLI because im not sure how i feel about the front bumper with no moldings and the rest of the car with the moldings. So if you guys/gals have any pics i would really appreciate it. thanks.

Ive been debating on doing this too but have mixed feeling about the R bumper. You can go with Bora R rear and do color match molding on the door. Thats what i was going to do.

      top is the gli bumper
bottom is the OEM R32 bumper

Their are not to many people who have Bora R bumper due to the price and the reason they have to shave the car

Yes, it's not a Bora R bumper but if you read correctly the op wanted a pic with the Bora R bumper W rubstrips (which was never made) thats why i said it was custom. thats the only way you are going to get it any type of R bumper to have the rubstrips. by fusing two halves together.

No problem. yeah, I found myself in the same dilema. I wanted an R32 bumper on my Jetta but wanted to keep the rubstrip, and in order to do that you have to fuse the top of your existing bumper to the bottom of an R32 bumper. hope this helped

The space between the top of the grill and the bottom of the rubstrip is just a little bit too big, but otherwise I love it. I saw this in person Eurowerks.

A lot of cars have bumpers without rubstrips, but still have them on the doors. I'm not saying Volkswagens, but cars in general. I think it looks ok and is easy enough to get away with.

Is dafrenchy11's front bumper an OEM R32 or after market?

I believe the bottom half is an OEM Golf R32 bumper and the top half is an OEM Jetta bumper. A good body shop should be able to "fuse" them together, but that's a lot of hours of work, and certainly not cheap.

It's a GLI with a full .:R32 drivetrain and interior. The owner hasn't been on the forum for years. It was a custom built bumper (as are all of the other Bora R bumpers with rubstrips). No one produces an R32 bumper for the Jetta with a rubstrip. Period.

Thanks for the info. Do any other pictures of this car exist? Any idea where the owner went? That guys should have his own thread in my opinion. I love everything about the car; especially the T&A standing next to it.

Those are more than likely the real deal. No expense was spared on that car (R32 drivetrain, interior, Streetwerke turbo kit, custom Brembo rear brakes, etc.)

I'm a big fan of the rub strip custom bumper. Yeah it's a lot of work, but it really makes the Jetta look sporty while maintaining the factory essence..

If you have the know how and time, or just enough money to pay someone else to do it, go for it.

One of my personal pet peeves is no rub strips on a front bumper then rub strips on the rear bumper. That just seems lazy to me.
