4 wheeler accident last August. Me, my brother & my cousin were on our way back from the local trails. My cousin...who was in front of me...decided to slow down while we're doing 50. My front right tire caught his rear left & it catapulted in the air where i bounced off the pavement & skipped into someones mailbox post...which is what stopped me. Oddly enough nothing happen to the quads other then a bent handle bar & i got right up & dusted myself off. My whole back had road rash. Jumped back on the bike & went home. After sitting down for a half hour, that adrenaline wore off. Talk about pain. The wife took me to the hospital.

This is one place where I will say go to eBay. You can get the stuff so stupid cheap with t-bolt clamps, 4-ply silicone, and a decent core. Seriously.

I'm using CXRacing boost tubing & connectors. Their connectors hold up pretty well. I've burned a hole in a few of 'em. Don't ask me how

Finished up my intercooler piping this past Monday. Now I need to get it to the welder to get it all tidied up!

Cleaned up some of the un-needed wiring in the bay yesterday, as well.

New oil pump, rod bearings, brake pads & rotors, and radiator are all on hand. ARP rod bolts are ordered. Still need to pick up some mounts for this thing.

I also need to get some more sandpaper and get the other two wheels polished.

Summit..Ebay..Jegs...there are quite a few places. My suggestion would be to search for the best price.

The problem with replacing the rising rate with an aeromotive or fuel lab etc is that you won't have the same fuel pressure... ie you'll have to change your injectors and chip to run properly.

He's running a very old setup so he would definitely need new software, inj., & a FPR. Pic's of his setup is the previous page. I think its chipless & running stock inj. It's an OBD1.

This pic has given me an idea....

My lower tubing hangs to low. It goes under the rad support. If i can get it around it like this, i'd be a happy camper.

It's pretty tight coming up past the trans and everything, but it fits even with the battery still up front. Man do I love working on my '82 Cabby's ABA w/bike carbs after working on this thing!

I was almost going to try to squeeze that one through between the rad support and the bottom of the rad, but the angles just weren't quite right.

FYI most of the bends seen in my pics above are from a CXRacing ebay kit. Cost me less than $90 shipped to my door and included 8 pieces of 2.5" aluminum (3" is way overkill for most anything any of us are putting together), 6 straight 4-ply silicone couplers, 2 tight radius 90* silicone couplers, and 16 t-bolt clamps. All the aluminum came with beads rolled in the ends, too. Too bad I had to cut almost all of them off! I'll have new ones rolled in when everything gets welded up.

OTH, was digging back through this thread looking for pics of OBD1 setups with ISVs to figure out how to plumb mine. I know a lot of people just ditch it, but I want this car to not be cold hearted on cold starts.

I've done a good bit of research on this and while I generally agree, and I rid myself of several codes on my MK3 when I went back to a stock airbox, some of the software is written with the air filter on the MAF taken into consideration. I'm still not saying it's right, but I've found posts with Jeff Atwood telling people to put the filter back on the MAF because the software was written with that in consideration. I can see how the screen would help straighten out the airflow a bit.

The other thing is that for most of us there just isn't enough room to put it anywhere else with a VR6 and a turbo and boost tubes!

As for dubman#1's boosting past 10lbs issue, what software/injectors are you running? Have you checked for boost leaks?

I think he means the intake tube. The MAF needs to be a certain length away from the turbo. I've never heard of moving the filter though. I plan on moving mine away another 2" or so.

$$$ is preventing me from making that move. That and having to pay someone to properly tune it.
