    After selling my beloved 2007 Passat Wagon 6 spped manual, we needed a new smaller practical vehicle that was good on gas, after looking at a few used car, we decided that a new car would be better, considering it has a factory warranty .... so, we bought:
    A 2010 4 door Golf TDI with 6 speed manual transmission, in Shark Blue with Sunroof, Dynaudio, Bi Xenon with AFS, Navigation, Mat Kit and Exhaust Tips.
    It is an awesome car and gets great mileage!
    I flew in to Atlanta to go buy it from my friend Mike Martucci (known as Tucci on here), he picked me up at the airport and I drove the car back home on almost one tank, I could have done it on one tank but I needed to stretch my legs a few times during the 10 hour drive so on the last stop at 1am I decided to fuel it.
    The experience of buying the car from Tucci was really smooth, just as when I had special ordered my wagon this Golf replaces.
    I will be using this thread for pictures, mods, updates and just random notes about the car, so check back, and check back often, because this thread will be my main thread for everything about this car!
    Enjoy !!!

    Miscellaneous notes and comments:

    * 28 June 2010: Saw the car in Orlando at David Maus VW where the car was before the dealer trade - looks nice!

    * 01 July 2010: Flew in to Atlanta to go pick the car up from Tucci at Jim Ellis VW, drove the car back home.

    * 02 July 2010: After washing the car and inspecting the paint, found 2 paint defects, one on the hood where it looks like the clear and metallic base coat blended together, paint looks lighter and metal flakes are very uneven, rather large area (4" x 6" or so). Also on the rear bumper, driver side at the bottom of the bumper there is a scratch, pretty deep, it seems like the bumper had that deep scratch before the paint was applied. Interesting point is both areas had a round sticker there at one point, did they notice that at the factory or at the port but didn't do anything about it? The hood sticker was gone but you could still barely see it's outline, the rear bumper sticker was still in place but faded/washed off.

    * 04 July 2010: Noticed the rear wiper washer nozzle is dripping onto the rear window, I think there is a TSB for that, so I'll have them look at it next time it's at the dealer.

    * 05 July 2010: Just realized I didn't get my carpeted floor mats, do you loose those if you have the port installed mat kit?

    * 07 July 2010: I don't think the 300w Dynaudio in the Golf sounds as good as the 600w Dynaudio that was in my wagon, better than the non Dynaudio Golf, but not quite there.

    * 08 July 2010: I finally remembered what the sound of the TDI reminds me of, it reminds me of my Grandpa's Land Rover Defender 110 Turbo Diesel ! Quieter of course, but in a parking garage you really get to appreciate the nice sound of the TDI !

    * 14 August 2010: First I need to say that the Dynaudio system is breaking in quite nicely and is sounding MUCH better now than it was on my last report of July 07th 2010, I'm happy about that. Also today I installed my new OEM brushed aluminum glove box handle and I found two things that I think were worth noting. Since I ended up having to remove the glove box (dropped the screw in the glove box door ) first thing I noticed is that the part that the rubber hose for the glove box air conditioning attaches to was NOT installed correctly. The fitting is supposed to be clipped into the glove box thru a hole from the inside, it was just resting on the outside of the back of the glove box, there is no way it could have moved when I took the glove box out, as you have to make it go all the way around to the inside to install correctly ... guess what, the AC in my glove box is MUCH more efficient now ! Second thing I noticed is that the Climatic console was loose after I removed the surrounding trim, the two screws were in but very loose (one was almost falling out) so I lined it up good and tightened the screws, and now the trim fits much better ... I wonder what else they forgot to install correctly ?

    * 14 September 2010: Went over 4000 miles today ! Loving it !

    * 15 February 2011: Just went over 9000 miles today, and also had best gas mileage and best distance on tank to date !

    * 13 April 2011: Just got back our first Blackstone Labs oil analysis: Click here to see it.

    * 01 July 2011: One year anniversary.

    * 11 July 2011: Part of the 700 mile club

    * 22 May 2012: Another tank over 700 miles

    nice car, I've noticed that your overhead bluetooth buttons are the same as they should be in the manual. Weird how mine has different symbols like a Star and ! symbol.

    Nice looking MKVI Golf. I find the shark blue nice but just can't decide between the blue and the reflex silver. You are going to love the TDI.

    It's not all the options but close, no DSG, no cold weather package, no mudflaps and no rear airbags I think that's it

    Nice photos - what is the portable lighting you're using, specifically the power source? Have good video lights, but looking at portable power.

    Thanks.

    Thanks, I may have to invest in small, portable setup for stills as I'm more tied into video (at least where lighting is concerned).

    I have purchase a TDI golf with all options except the Navigation

    Will the bluetooth mod work without the Navigation installed in the car?

    Will I be able to see the phonebook on my stereo Screen?

    Where do you recommend buying the new module from?

    I looked on euronav but did not see it listed??

    Thanks

    It will work, but not everything will be displayed on the radio, everything will be displayed on the cluster though.
