Not sure what you are talking about lads????

YAY! Finally have joined the VW Club. After being told my order for a 5dr CW Polo GTI (Comfort + RDC510 + Bi-Xenons) would be in 2012, I decided to 'up the rent' to a Golf. Slaven's had a Carbon Steel 5dr Manual Golf GTI with Detroits - demo with only 90kms (1 drive) on it, $42.5K on road. Compare this to the Polo being $36.6K. SO, SHE IS MINE!

I will trade in my 306 XSi change over being well south of $40K and, I GET THE CAR ON FRIDAY, not next year!

      Fkn excited?

      Great stuff Stu.

Mad respect for 306s though, came close to owning one a couple of times, but never got across the line. I know you only had it for a while, but I'll be sad to see it go, haha.

Hopefully the GTI ownership experience is a good one for you.

Congratulations! Sounds like Phil looked after you, good guy. Though wasn't a happy chap when we cancelled our R order a few weeks ago (lost out to the 1M).

      Excellent deal!

Crikey, the Polo GTI backlog seems to be madness. I had an A1 loan car from ACC today (thanks Jono ), which was a nice little thing. However, the price climbs rapidly as soon as you option a keyring, which made me think the Polo GTI might be a better value replacement for the strife's Golf GT TDI. But, given this experience, it looks like the GTD will be the way to go.

Good work Stu, great deal for sure! Looking forward to checking it out on Saturday

In other Canberra news, is anyone checking this out on Saturday?

It could be a bit of fun!

no probs Timbo- the A1 is a great car, but if I was in the market, I couldn't justify the price difference....

      Hey Guy's,

Since last April, I've been the very proud owner of a mk6 Gti, and I love it.

I'm a huge car fan, and have finally figured i'd try and find some like minded people in the ACT. I was recommended this forum by a friend as a good place to meet car fans of more than just Volkswagens.

Anyways I thought I'd introduce myself to you guy's, and let you know I've landed on this forum.

No, I would still get white. But if I was in a hurry like Stu (Mi16 Man) was and there was a Carbon Steel car on offer I doubt I would say no.

It does look good. I remember Stu saying the Pug was on the way out now...

Spotted a carbon steel mk6 rolling on the old 5 spoke Karthoum 18s near Carmel/Pebble Beach last week.. Wheels were painted anthracite. Looked very tidy..

Hey Jono, what days are you in at work next week? I need to drop in for a chat about arranging some touch up work when my car is in for its 30K service (currently on 28K).

Oh I'll be there for the next drive for sure!

The Carbon Steel looks fantastic on the Gti. Congrats on the purchase! Sounds like you got a fantastic deal too!

For those who i've not met yet, I've attached a pic of my baby.

That line is a bit tight for the uphill left hander that's coming up.

LOL I've definitely come in well before the apex! But don't stress, thats not the line I took whilst driving around diligently obeying the 60kph speed limit!

      Gents and of course Ladies

Can anyone out there recommend a car detailer in Canberra? We are working through the purchase of a Tiguan and we need to 'polish a turd' (wife's car a Hyundai Elantra) prior to sale. Plus it would be good to know for when I sell the TDI, if and when the GTD finally gets built....

      Regards

I think detailing a Hyundai will make it lose value

      Hey guys!

Sorry for my late reply much thanks for all your 'congrats' about my carbon steel baby.

Got her tinted now, clay bar treatment and wax done. Amazing what the clay bar took off, being a 4 month old car!

      Hope ur all well
      Stu
