    Thread: Software Update

    1. 07-26-2010 02:01 PM #1
I just heard there's a software update on the Mk6 - something about an 02 sensor?

If this is true does it mean they would have to flash my ECU? ****.

How would we find out if this is true?

And would this mean for anyone who has the APR Stage 1, then once the VW dealer flashes with this software update it will overwrite the APR programs, so then APR would have to do another flash?

This brings up a question... when you get an APR flash and you're getting multiple programs, is the APR "stock" program written on there by APR? Or does APR not affect the program that VW put on there, and APR just adds additional programs?

The stock program on an APR'd VW is APR's. If VW issues an ECU update, it will overwrite the APR flash.

It sounds like to reflash with APR software after the first time they can just do it through the port though right? Does this still hold true if the dealer overwrites the APR flash? If the ECU had to be removed again that would suck.

I just had mine done, all they do is update the ECU and change out the rear oxygen sensor. But I think this is only for the TDI vehicles.

can anyone answer the question about the re-flash: Is this done via the port or does it require removal of the ECU again?

TDI's have a software update to change the working range of some sensors.

Some GTIs/Passats/Tiguans/CCs have an update for the run time of the after run pump.
