Ordered some 10mm spacers for the rear.

Hopefully these will work well without rubbing too much.

The 16mm killed my rear fenders.

It's a custom Airlift kit... 5lb tank in the trunk, dual compressors... The rear bags are a new style, truck bags and flipped... My buddy's MKV is on bags (Bulldogger) and he has had some serious issues with his rear bags, so STS tried a new setup...

If you are slicing tires and bottoming out then you're doing it wrong.

Must be several in this forum "doing it wrong" then, since I have seen comments from forum members saying as much. How can it be a good thing to have a quarter turn on the steering wheel before rubbing somewhere? I prefer to have full lock available when I need it, but that's just me.

Well IMHO if you're slicing tires, you definitely are doing it wrong... I ride mine somewhat low, but I still have full turn capability, unless of course I'm on a decent length of straight away with no sharp turns, then I'll slam her down a bit more

... I guess it's all up to the person on how low they wanna ride... I honestly rub more on my coilovers on my Passat than I do on my bags in my .:R...

But in the end, it's to each their own really... I like some cars with a static drop, but I also like the dope a$$ look of a car slammed all the way down... That .:R on coils looks solid for sure...

Running H&R coilovers, no spacers with the 19" wheels. An occasional rub on a rough roads in turns. For a daily driver really wouldn't want it any lower..... Don't need to worry about speed bumps, entering steep driveways etc.

I wanted to know how many of you guys if any are running skid plates? oil pan clearance has been a concern for VRs over the years

The oil pan on Mkv Rs (vr) are a lot less taller than older vr pans. While i drive pretty low i have yet to scrap a pan. However, in the future i plan on running some sort of skid plate as a precautionary measure. I'd also be interested in knowing whats recommended.

No Skid plate here, But I've yet to hit anything or even scrape my oilpan and I've taken my Car everywhere. I do plan on adding one in the future though, not very important mod though. Isn't the skid plate around 600 and another oilpan around 200?

There is also the Euro OEM Steel skid plate sold by ECS: http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Skid_Plate/ES1892332/ for $450 pre-shipping. Clearance is a little better from the OEM model IIRC; and it has cooling vents like our stock plastic ones as well.

But it is close to twice the price too...
