This one is a 1980, in Indiana Red. And it hasn't been driven in 15 years. The inspection sticker on the windshield is from 1993, and the license plate expired in 1995.
The good:
-Very little rust, despite being from Pennsylvania
-Paint is pretty shiny
-Interior is very nice
-It was stored indoors (in an airplane hangar) since it was last used in the mid 90s
The bad:
-Automatic transmission
-A mouse chewed at the wiring, and the PO didn't quite finish fixing it
-A/C compressor is locked up (not really a big deal, but this list looked kinda short without it)
-Dash was replaced with one from a Mk2. However, if I can find a suitable Mk1 dash, I'll have another decent dash for one of my Mk2s.
And so, on with the pics! These are from after I washed 15 years of dust off of it this morning.
The worst of the rust:
I put a battery in it this morning so I could see what works and what doesn't.
What works:
-Interior light
-Radio
-Blower motor
-Headlights
-Turn signals
-Front wiper
What doesn't work:
-Rear lights
-Fuel pump
Also, I found a jumper wire going to the radiator fan, so I suspect that the fan switch is bad. I'll have to check that out later. Gotta get it running first.
