I don't know what happened to them. This came as a surprise to me. I had planned to purchase the roof for my project, but now I don't know what I am going to do. I am going to have to do some research and make phone calls to CF manufacturers to see if I can have a custom roof made up.
I know AMS makes CF parts; however, they only seem to specialize in BMW, Mitsubishi and Porsche.![]()

Why go rounds when it feels so good to stay square.

Please take Hansdiesel off of the list!! He's Prothe, Rothenbacher, etc. If you do searches you'll see he's not someone we should be supporting.

does anyone know of a place to get the chrome side trim for above the rocker panel and for down the sides of the car on the upper 1/4 to front fender?

Do a search for Prothe here, vwdiesel.net, TDIClub, etc. All he sells is cheap Chinese garbage and has terrible customer service. He does not deserve our business.
I refuse to buy from him. But I know someone who went through 3 injection pumps from him and still never got one that worked and he wouldn't honor the warranty. And that's not unusual.

Here is a good option for Canadians, they have both air and water cooled parts.

next, VW part numbering system
http://www.ffp.fi/index.php?mid=2&pid=140
Each part number is composed of nine numbers in three groups,
followed optionally with a letter suffix:
vvv ggg ppp suffix
Vehicle type (vvv):
155 = Convertible
171 = Golf I
161 = Jetta I
165 = Jetta II
191 = Golf
261 = 16V GTI
531 = Scirocco I
535 = Scirocco II
Primary index (ggg):
100-199 = Engine/Cooling/Clutch
200-299 = Exhaust, Fuel Tank
300-399 = Transmission/Transaxle
400-499 = Front Axle/Suspension
500-599 = Rear Axle
600-699 = Brake
700-799 = Cables, Bumpers and Foot control
800-899 = Body/Interior
900-999 = Electrical, ignition, fuel injection
Individual Part Number (ppp):
000-999 = Individual part
The primary index and the part number are the most important numbers because many of the cars share the same parts. So do not be surprised to see a 171-Rabbit type part in a Jetta.
Note that some part numbers are exclusively related to certain parts of the car.
For example, vvv = 020 are related to the transmission.

its been awhile but i just wanted to report on a reminder to me about a company listed here
busdepot is excellent
their website has tons of parts
sure its missing pictures sometimes...cant win them all
i ordred some cv boot clamps once because no one else offered the oem style that i could track down quickly
they accidently ran out of stock (back-ordered) and called me the next day, actually left me a message
i called back and was easily able to sort out the order
thats what companies are supposed to do, CALL
or atleast send a real email and hold processing for 1-2 days for the buyer to decide

Anybody know something about front panels on the doors, for front speakers?
MY neighbour, who is very much into Golf mk1, told me he didnt see such a thing, but I found it on the internet that some people has it.
I would like to put it in my car so Ican have more speakers. Is it tough for buy it and find it?
