Though I've posted in other threads about tinting, I wanted to give this it's own thread. I got my CC tinted today at TNT Tint www.tnttint.net and I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it to anyone in the DMV looking to get tint done. The owner/installer Matt is an extremely knowledgable and genuinely nice guy. His cutting is excellent and he took his time with my CC to make sure he got it right. He has done tint for Ovechkin, Santana Moss, Nikki Backstrom, and pretty much every other high profile DC athelete/celeb. He uses Madico Charcool and I went with 35% all around and couldn't be happier. Hope this helps anyone trying to decide where to go. Other people in my family have already scheduled tint to be done with him and hopefully some of you do too

He charged $220, which is way cheaper than what LA Tint was trying to charge me

how much was LA tint asking for? I have their business card that says any 2 or 4 door car for $100

I'll have to try it out, my rear needs to be redone.

Did he have the film cut before he came? or did he cut it there?

i can vouch for TNT as well. Matt is a great dude, straightforward and honest. he'll tell it to you like it is. he does a lifetime warranty on his work as well. also, if there's a problem with the tint, he'll be happy to look over it and redo it if necessary, no charge. and yes, he does all tints for his own company and for designo motoring, a high end shop (think exotics) that did ovechkin's + other celebs' cars. and yeah, he is always booked pretty solid, speaks for itself in how much people trust his work.

Just used Wardell (No Limit Mobile Window Tinting) for my SportWagen - Global High Performance Charcoal 35% all around - looks fantastic. The gentlemen is a pro, came to my home, got going within minutes, was friendly and did a flawless install with the tint.

TNT Tint is quoting pretty high prices for my Jetta. $330 for 35% tint on all 4 windows and the back window?!!?

No limit's voicemail inbox is full. Called and e-mailed on Monday. No response back yet.

yea but what did he charge you? $330 for a 4 door Jetta seems too high. sister's lexus is about t he same size as my car, and she even got tint removed first and then a new tint put on and it was $90 cheaper than $330.

what kind of tint was used and what kind of shop or person did the work? there is a reason why one would charge more for the same job, just saying.

She got it done AT TNT TINT. At 20%. I only want 35%. And I don't need tint removed. Tint removal itself has to be at least $100. So, for her, she got removal and a brand new tint done at TNT for $240. How the hell can TNT Tint charge me $330 for just a tint job? Matt claims its because my car takes 3.5 hours. Sorry, not seeing the correlation. I imagine my sister's car took a hell of a lot longer to remove the tint and then do it all over again.

one other thing, since i'm going to look elsewhere for tinting most likely, I'm trying to find out what some of the better tint films are. I've heard llumar was good.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Japanese cars are a lot easier to work on. From what I heard it b/c they are a lot harder to tint, shape of the window and the way the cars are put together. But you have to remember he does top notch work and will not a car leave his shop with a badly cut corner or anything like that. La Tint wants the same price, and they say the same thing VWs are a pain the ass to tint.

Just got my white GLI tinted today, 35% all around. Looks real nice. I got it done at Underground Audio on Backlick Road in Springfield. My brother got his first GTI done there and it looked good too.

I do know that one of the guys that does the work there (not the Asian owner, apparently he doesn't know much about cars at all) is opening his own shop on Telegraph, so I'd probably take it there instead of here in the future, just because my brother knows the guy personally.

This place has been known to be really expensive (for audio), but compared to TNT Tint's price quote of $330, this was a good deal. Got it for $255 (Suntek film used).

Underground gets some pretty terrible reviews on google maps (mostly because their quotes were too high for audio work). But I had no problem with these guys. Dropped it at 12:30 and it was done at 3:30.

Here's the contact info for Underground Audio:
    7708 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22150 (703) 451-9031 ‎ undergroundaudio.biz

And here's the contact info for the place that one of the workers is going to be working at permanently real soon: I think it's new: Unique Audio, 7220 Telegraph Square drive, Suite J, Lorton, VA. uniqueaudiova.com 7033398032.

Yup Matt Judy tinted three of my cars in the past and does top notch work.

I rather pay more for the peace of mind.

My girlfriend got her 2007 civic coupe tinted at TNT and the price was $200. Matt did an amazing job, no imperfections at all. I agree that for the peace of mind it's a good price.

I was in my 2010 GTI for dropping over her car and such, and he wouldn't stop s**ting on VWs. He definitely speaks his mind, and said that he'd charge around $320 to $330 for the GTI. Said they are pieces of s**t and a pain in the a** to tint.

However I know it's common knowledge that GTI's are a pain to tint, but come on man. Crapping on my purchasing decision to my face, haha.

The man knows how to tint cars though.

yeah i paid $330 to get my GTI done a year ago. he's quite blunt, but at least he let me watch the whole process while he was working on the car. i did get some imperfections that he was willing to sort out for free.

one of the downsides that i do want to caution people about is the garage he works out of is a BMW shop, and the actual room he uses is kind of dusty/dirty, so it's easy to get dust specks between the film and the glass. otherwise, Matt does quality work.

I spoke to Matt yesterday. He quoted me $350 for a 2 door Golf R. $70 per window seems a bit steep. Any other N. VA recommendations?
