At least it's safe to swim there. No alcohol on boats is a good thing here. Lewisville Lake isn't so kind.....

Yeah i've really never taken any notice to it. Once I get a aftermarket exhaust then i'll worry about it more.

You just have to man up. I went through three soaking wet shirts and 6 big cups of water during my detail. It's a labor of love.

I've looked at that grill over and over. I keep starting to buy one and then i stop myself, because I love the CF but I hate the screening... I wish OSIR would have keep the stock crossbars so everything matched up right

I'd buy a CF grill in a heartbeat if it had this; but I just can't bring myself to do it when the center doesn't match. Glad the product is top notch though, it does look good against the red

That's me too. I look at wheels I dunno how many times a day. And I know what I want. Just can't bring myself to spend the money on them. Before my son was born, it wasn't a problem. I'd find what I liked, get the cash, and do it. Now? Even when I get the cash for stuff, I can't seem to make myself spend it on what I was trying to get and it ends up going elsewhere, usually on either bills, or eating out. At least, though, my RSB should be here in the next day or so.

Got some new stuff in the mail yesterday that I plan on busting out very soon:

Optimum PT Car Wash - for the first bath - haven't washed her in over a year, literally
Optimum PT No-Rinse Wash - for subsequent cleanings
Meguiars Gold Class Bug & Tar Remover - for caked-on road grime on the wheels and other spots
Optimum PT Car Wax - heard it's pretty awesome for being a spray-on, wipe-off
Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze - never used sealant before and I want to get it right
    Applicators and other hardware

On top of what I already own - a PC 7424 DA Polisher and a few assorted Sonus polishes - I think I've got the right tools for the job. Will definitely post some photos once the job's done.

Come to Chicago and I'll do it! My cousin and I have been detailing cars for a while and are thinking about starting a small business out of it. We need a few good cars to build up our "portfolio" first though

that was my only complain at first, they should have made it so you could choose to use either the stock crossbars or mesh. once you get used to the mesh it seems "normal" though and makes the car look sportier imo. i just want to figure out a good way to attach my stock R32 emblem to the grill.

Easier said than done.... I have been through dealership BS for 2 years now about that stupid transmission. They tell me its normal. Then I was quoted $700 for the 40K service and DSG service... I just rolled 41k so I have to do something very soon. I thought our letters were supposed to go out in October...? Ugh, not sure if I should just go ahead and pay for the service and live with the damn thing. Really not happy with the DSG and am looking at the possibility of a manual swap down the road.

schwung, you need to visit another dealer on one of your next trips out of town.

not that the mech unit will cure your 6M blues!

I wish it were that easy Abe... here in the lowcountry, there are limited choices. I'm working on it. If anyone knows of a good dealer in Jax, let me know. Otherwise, I'm stuck taking it to the Charleston dealer that I got the car from. I hate to say, but I think part of my dealer problem is the sexist attitude that I frequently run into. Ridiculous!

Oh, I think I've found the cure for my MT blues Just going to wait for my CPO to run out, gather parts in the meantime, then rip into it!

    seems you could either:
    1. use your sex to your advantage? from a guy's standpoint it's a fair statement to make... c'mon you know how to manipulate some freakin service advisor a-holes, no?
    2. or get a big burly car guy friend to make it happen for you? there's plenty of online documentation to support your case for an MU swap.
unless you have a load of mods and they're not mod-friendly... PITA, but you maybe still can temporarily unmod the car if you think the dealer will be ok with that.

or are they claiming they cannot reproduce bad DSG behavior? that IS vw policy, to only proceed with warranty work if they can reproduce symptoms in-house. if this is the case, it's on you to figure out exactly what it takes to reproduce the symptoms. then you provide them with the procedure in writing and they can't decline... as long as you have VWoA behind you. call VWoA if they continue to give you trouble.

but you already know all this, right? i'm probably not understanding your full situation.
