I thought the dashboard tray didn't fit in the R due to the sensor for the climate control? I keep that vent turned off all the time and would love to replace it with a tray. Actually, I'd like to use the tray insert for a permanently mounted ipod dock.

At first I did not think the tray would work either. I went to the dealer to ask there techs if I was able to maybe remove the sensor or tuck it away. But every volkswagen tech said "No the sensor has to be there or the AC won't work properly, blah blah blah". So I gave it a shot, replaced the top vent and just tucked the sensor away and my AC works perfectly fine, if anything I think the AC has gotten a bit colder.

    Here are some pics

    Sorry for the huge pictures

I love my Pioneer head unit! It's the AVIC-F90BT. As you can see though the plastic border to fit the head unit isn't really that flush. Hopefully soon when I have more free time I'll fashion something up so it will sit flush and get it to look like the car was made with it.

The GPS on the head unit is actually really great. Very accurate, and actually very smooth. I have the GPS sensor and bluetooth mic ran to the top driver side corner of the windshield so it is out of the way but still usable

Plan on installing my Neuspeed Rear Sway Bar w/ Endlinks tomorrow.

Possibly the Neuspeed springs as well for a nice little drop.

    • Installed my low profile engine trim
    • Separated my new holeless, Plastidipped grill so I could mount magnetic plate holder
    • Installed Magnets; only to have epoxy fail due to insanely high humidity
    • reinstalled magnets, allowing Epoxy to cure inside house to avoid humidity...
    • Took pics of my failing EVOMS intake trim to send to Ian
    • Mounted my Front plate on my passenger visor temporarily until I can finish my grill and get it installed...
    • Drank a beer and stared forlornly at my grill-less front end

Brake fluid flush w/ Super Blue... (ooohs and awwwws) yeah right.

Motive Bleeder is money. First time using a pressure bleeder.

    Cycled the ABS pump.

The 2.5 y/o fluid looked a little yellowed. I did notice a VERY small bit of air in the lines.

I figure 2 years down the road I'll flush it with the Typ 200 from ATE. The undyed version of super blue. It really helped having different colored fluid.
    insert cheap credibility statement here...

Broke out the jack and jack stands.

Installed the Neuspeed Sway Bar and Endlinks.

Ordered the Pop Hatch Kit and Hella Taillights from ECS.

    Then test drive.

I had to polish out a strange parking lot scratch on my right rear 1/4 panel and c pillar. I stood mesmerized when I first saw it, trying to figure out how it got there. Took about 4 minutes with some cleaner wax to make it go away!

    Jak,
Have you done this to your R32? It isn't hard, (about an 1.1 hrs) and only about $75 thru TMTuning w/ the bottle opener...

I would but I installed the sway bar and the endlinks together. But going from the stock sway bar and endlinks to the new Neuspeed set, it was like night and day! The car takes the turns so beautifully now. Definitely a great set to have

i see. i have the neuspeed RSB, but no fancy end links. probably saving this for later consideration. for now i'm saving for the original unibrace, which many mkIV folks say is a much more effective addition than a RSB itself. hmmm.

I have been debating on wether or not to get the unibrace. But the next mod I plan on saving for is ECU & DSG upgrade which I still haven't got done yet. Then I'm looking into FK Silverline X coils

I have the Neuspeed springs sitting in my garage. Got them from a friend of mine but never got around to getting them installed. I also have to get the intake from him and that needs to get installed. But if the ups tracking doesn't fail I should have some goodies coming in tomorrow!

I'm a huge fan of my H&R Springs, and to compare I had Bilstein PSS9's on my MKV GTI. Perfect height for an aggressive look without much worry. I won't be doing coil-overs since I'm so happy with the look of my car and ride. Progressive springs ftw.

Today, installed an MFD2 Nav that I've had for many months.
