Today I didnt install a UNIbrace on my R32. Unlike Mike though I own neither an R32 or a UNIbrace.

I did have a visit from the AC Schnitzer fairy. 17X8.5 et15 kitty approved concave deliciousness.

    Test fit my new wheels.

They clear the calipers so I'm content.

If your gas cap light comes on even if you think you tightened the cap, try pulling on the cap as you tighten it. Worked for me.

HPA hockey puck (bought on the pre-holiday discount).

Like almost every DIY I read on this board, it took me *way* longer than it seems to take all of you. The nasty bit was of course the destructive removal of the OEM rubber mount.

I've only driven it to the store and back, but I have to rate it 'evolutionary' rather than 'revolutionary' when added to the full set of VF mounts I've been running since summer 2009. FWIW, my VF "4 finger void filler" was still intact and doing its job, but of course it was one of the things I had to rip out.

I can definitely see a difference in fore-aft engine rock with this HPA puck installed vs the full set of VFs. The HPA puck keeps the engine pretty dang solid.

Vibes aren't particularly noticeable, except at low RPM at gear engage. Then the chassis buzzes for a second before settling out.

Resonator delete? Isn't that just a plain old pipe that fits in its place? What a generous boss you have

Drove 2 hours north to middleofnowhere PA to trade for a "mint" set of 18x8 visions, with "good" tires for my wheels + $100.

Two tiny rashes (nbd, maybe 10mm long), and one spot of clear coat fading, and destroyed tires. Three of the tires were worn on the outsides almost to the belts, the 4th tire was new with a nice fat nail in it, and there was a bubble in another tire. We agreed to just swap my tires onto the Visions. That's where the fun began...

Ended up driving around in the rain for 2 hours (stopped at 6 tire shops) until a small shop would swap the tires (who knew that in this day and age, people can't change tires on 18's.. ) and they surprised me by trying to charge me extra on top of the already outrageous price to have the wheels balanced.

Needless to say I had already invested 4 hours into the trip, I wasn't going home with my pride in my pocket (wife was LOL'ing at me the entire time for attempting this)... So I haggled with the guy at the shop and got it all done. I also didn't pay the $100 in the deal. Then when I went to snap a pic on the way home, I sneezed. Said screw it and headed home.

Took some backroads to avoid the toll at the PA turnpike, and also almost died in torrential mist from the cars in front of me, and 9/10 people going in the other direction had their brights on.

Here's a blurry ass iPhone picture, I'll take a nice one tomorrow.
*Check out my awesome photo clarity out of my iPhone4!!! lulz.*

I thought there were blemishes in the clear coat on all 4 wheels, but it turned out to just be smudges and driving in the rain cleaned them right up. 18x8, and lighter than the omyants. I can't complain.

On this site it says 22.5... But I think that's wishful thinking, lol.

I personally hate Visions in 17in, but love them in 18's... I think it's because the spokes are longer... I dunno.

    From Monday:

    R32-tility
I am finishing my basement and i needed 2 interior doors. 36x80 and 30x80. Plus some random things. They stuck out about 18-24 inches. I did put my seat up to help not have so much hanging out. I had crappy rope that kept breaking, so the hatch was up the entire ride home. But i did have the doors bungied in.

...but how did it sound? Two years ago we hauled the xmas tree home with the back open. It sounded glorious. I kept giggling like a schoolgirl, rowing up and down the gears for no real reason while Mrs_Peach kept saying, "Would you stop doing that? You're gonna get in trouble!"

It did sound glorious. I never now how loud the stock exhaust is and this gives a sense of what it is like from the outside. I have been thinking about getting an exhaust lately and having the hatch open makes me want to have the hatch open all the time. It also makes me kinda wish that just the glass opened up like the 92-95 civic hatchbacks. i would drive around all summer with my back window open.
