      From Monday:

I am finishing my basement and i needed 2 interior doors. 36x80 and 30x80. Plus some random things. They stuck out about 18-24 inches. I did put my seat up to help not have so much hanging out. I had crappy rope that kept breaking, so the hatch was up the entire ride home. But i did have the doors bungied in.

...but how did it sound? Two years ago we hauled the xmas tree home with the back open. It sounded glorious. I kept giggling like a schoolgirl, rowing up and down the gears for no real reason while Mrs_Peach kept saying, "Would you stop doing that? You're gonna get in trouble!"

It did sound glorious. I never now how loud the stock exhaust is and this gives a sense of what it is like from the outside. I have been thinking about getting an exhaust lately and having the hatch open makes me want to have the hatch open all the time. It also makes me kinda wish that just the glass opened up like the 92-95 civic hatchbacks. i would drive around all summer with my back window open.

Haha ya I picked it up forr 700 bucks and always wanted a camo car. Couple of beers and spray cans later it was done. I drove the R a little bit in the snow last year it was fun as hell just if I get a little crazy in tbe sub and hit hit something I just keep driving like nothing happened haha

Installed ECS smoked side markers that my GF got me for christmas!

I had trouble with the install though. The Golf/Jetta V forum DIY states to push on the front of it and it pops right out. I ended up pushing so hard that I peeled off the double-sided tape holding the black plastic mount to the inside of the bumper. So for the other side, I turned the steering wheel away from the side I wanted to work on, unscrewed the 2 bottom T20 screws of the wheel well liner, pulled the liner away with one hand while disengaging the sidemarker clip with the other. Worked so much easier!

That way only works on the GTI/GLI. Almost every thread on the subject specifically states do NOT do this if you have an R32... Unlucky you missed that part

      Pics to follow shortly
that is the correct way to do it for our cars; takes 5 minutes and nothing damage at all.

I had to ask specifically on this forum before I got the info about the install of the sidemarkers...No instructions I saw anywhere else said anything about R32 specifics. Should be in one of the stickies, IMO if it's not now.

You can reach one side (I think passenger) from the inside of the fender when you open the hood and for the other side, just need to remove a couple screws from the wheel liner as described above.
If your gas cap light comes on even if you think you tightened the cap, try pulling on the cap as you tighten it. Worked for me.

Easier to just take out 2 screws on each side. 5 minute job total; including letting my 10 year old turn the key to "on" and turn the wheels. You can also take out the lower side grilles and go in that way, difficulty about the same.

Threw on the new tire, pumped up the tires (TPMS light was on due to the cold temps), and installed the black hazard switch.

How is reaching down from the hood more difficult than removing screws? Anyway, thanks for the links...Somehow, I didn't see any of those threads when I got mine and none of the included instructions mentioned anything about R32 specifics. Whatever the case, one of those threads should be linked to in the DIY stickys.

It is nearly impossible to reach down from the top of the hood.

Get a kid or chick to do it if you can't fit your arm down there...But I guess two screws is not a big deal either. If your arm fits, that is the fastest and easiest way.

One of those should be stickied, none of the Golf/Jetta mkV DIY thread links mentioned the difference for the R32.
